Autopsy
2 years 1 month ago
For any of you who doesn't know what Autopsy is, well, the best way that I can put it is that it's somewhat like a process of dissecting a dead body in order to find out the reasons behind the person's death.
Last month, this girl from my friend's english class passed away. Nobody knew why she died because her parents found her dead the next morning on her bed with no abrasions whatsoever. To find out why she died in her sleep, they got pathologists to conduct an autopsy on her. I'm not quite sure about the whole procedure, but generally, they would strip her naked on a metalic surfact and start to cut her up with a scalpel from shoulder to shoulder and all the way down to her pelvic area. Somewhere between, they would take out most of her organs and dissect and study each of them individually to find out any abnormalties that might be related to her death. The final process was of course, shoving all the organs back into her body and sew her up so she could be escorted to the funeral.
If a murder occured, autopsies can be a big help in a crime investigation. Religious wise, autopsy is accepted, nonetheless, do you feel a little bit negative about defiling and mutilating a dead body without this dead person's consent? Feel free to share your opinion with me.

From the greek αὐτοψία which mean to see with your own eyes. From my point of view it doesn't really matter whether they chop the corpse or not since it is dead already. It doesn't matter how good or bad you handle it, it won’t come back to life.

Interesting way to look at it, but once again, it isn't my place to tell ya what to think. I personally think they are necessary most of the time reguarding the cases in which it is needed. I just would never get into that line of work, cuz it would make you think totally different in reguards to the human body. I mean, I know it's flesh/bone and all that great stuff, I'd just rather not visually see it day in and day out. lol, just makes me feel more comfortable. Even though I do watch T.V. shows like CSI and such.. At least it is on T.V.
I don't have a problem with them. I mean if that girl had been murdered, how else could they find her killer? The person doesn;t mind, they're dead!

Acutally, that girl I was talking about died of exhaustion. I guess highschool was too tough on her and she was taking it way too serious.
zutceroin a freeway it can pass any bobadas thing if one this does not prepare since one can be killed by, in addition deven to take precausianes by any thing that happens since one never knows, a freeway is a route of circulation of automobiles and terrestrial vehicles of load, that is fast and safe and admits a volume of considerable traffic, with a series of characteristics that differentiate it from a normal highway. The first routes constructed with this configuration became in Germany during the Thirties.
...What??!?

Exhaustion, huh. Way too wound up I guess. I feel sorry for people who live like that...
I have no problem with autopsies. It's not like they're being drawn and quartered, then paraded around town. In a case like this it helps make sure that nothing odd happened to her that wouldn't be obvious from the surface. Someone so young shouldn't just die one night under normal circumstances and unless the reason is understood, you have to wonder if there is some fowl play involved.
I can't feel sorry for the body. Once it's dead, the body is really nothing more than a reminder of who it used to be, there is no point in investing too much emotion in an object that resembles the person you miss.

I don't feel that autopsying a person would be defiling them. I mean, if you got murdered, wouldn't you want your loved ones to find the killer? And even if you werent, wouldnt it be nice for them to be so concerned that they'd conduct an autopsy?
Anyway, about dissecting dead bodies. My sister in med school was telling me how they had to dissect these bodies that were donated. I remember how she was telling me how gross it was, because the guy was so fat. I remember thinking... IT'S A DEAD BODY! How does the guy being fat even rate on the gross scale?!

Well, i dont think you can die from exaustion...but if that s the verdict after the autopsy then i guess that s really how she died. oh yeah and they also open up your scalp and skull to take out your brain :) they bascally open up and check every internal organ in your body.

How can a dead person give his consent to autopsy his body? he's DEAD for crying out loud.
i wouldn't care if my mutilate my corpse when i die, i'm dead anyway.

Yeah, I agree with kieselgurgh. It doesn't matter if you cut up a dead person or not. They can't feel anything at all. But it does matter to that person who is being cut up because it's not right to cut someone up without permission. I wouldn't want my body to be treated like that, even when I'm already ded.

Well... I think the point is to find possible poisoning. It is possible that the parents suspect that the child is poisoned.
Personally, I don't mind my body being cut up. In fact, I am a registered organ donor. So, when I die, all my internal organs go to the ones who need them. I suppose, might as well do something good when I am dead, eh?

Wow... that's a really interesting concept you have there. I think that we should be allowed to perform autopsies. This is because we should know how the person dies (yaddah yaddah yaddah) and if they were murdered, find out who killed them and apply the appropriate punishment. But true, it would be the mutilation of the deceased. I don't think anyone actually has a big problem with autopsies. If they did then we would probably go around telling people that we wouldn't want to be cut up when we're dead because, evidently, we wouldn't be able to tell our family, friends, the pathologist that after when had passed away.
Nonetheless, may the girl rest in peace.

Autopsies are only performed under strange circumstances or when there is reason to suspect foul play. Most people who die are not cut up and examined.

What does that quote have to do with your comment? Are you trying to correct me in some way, or do you just agree? I can't figure out how to respond to this...

LoL.
Would you want the autospy guy (Damn I don't know what it's called, lol) to cut up your body in order to help find any clues that might lead to who MURDERED you?
:)
