EDITED: This is my first anime wallpaper, and def one of my favorite shows/characters. Check it out, and bring on the critique. :P I swapped it out for the full quality scan.

Well, the scan is of bad quality. It has artifacting, and it's not extracted well enough on certain areas. The text is a bit jaggy, or maybe it's because of the artifacting.
Also, is that a cursor what I see? O_o

Hahaha Yes... it is a cursor. I redid it and took screen shots. Wow... cant believe I missed that. Thats pretty damn funny. Thanks for pointing that out! Well, I cant get quality scans without papers, but I cant get papers without making wallpapers... and I need scans to make good wallpapers. haha :P A vicious cycle.
As for the text... I dont see the problem there? I do know what you mean with the scan, but the one I copied had the same problems. I actually improved upon it. I'm assuming that the zoom feature doesnt display the full quality image in the gallery? Because thats where I got it from. Any other suggestions otherwise?

You can get papers by posting in the forum :-p
Well make a couple more of posts and you'll get enough paper to download the full size/quality of the scan. The scans with the zoom feature are too small and artifacted to work with them =P

Well i like the concept , but the character needs to be extracted where the gun is better . Good start though .

Definatly better . I dont know about your sig bieng in the spot where it is . They always tell me to conceal it . But i think it wout affect the wall . Good work .
Well I tried to make it fit the design and keep it out of the way, hopefully thats no issue. Thanks again for your help. I'll submit it again.
OK, I can't believe nobody said anything about this....you should get rid of that sort of outline shadow behind Motoko's head. It's just lame. I also think the background is a little too plain, especially because it is white. I don't think you should change the background color to something else because the white does look good with everything else you have in the wall, but I think it needs some kind of pattern or brush on the lefthand side, around Motoko, or a subtle image from a scan on the right. Oh, and there seems to be a white horizontal line cutting across the bottom of the wall. You can see it on the grey parts. At first, I thought it was a problem with my monitor, but it moved with the image when I scrolled up and down. So the wall is off to a good start and after a few more tweaks it should be good to go.
I'm a big Kusanagi fan myself and my first wall is of her, but it didn't meet the AP guidelines and I couldn't submit it. Ping me if you want to see it. My monitor is widescreen and I use 1440x900, so that's what resolution it is. Oh, and if you wanted to make a 1440x900 version of this wall, I'd use it; hint hint, lol.

^ OMG, I can't believe someone would actually critique a work using someone else's words verbatim. That's really shameful. Its almost like plagiarism. :P
hmm, the wall lacks crispness. its too blurry to be a technowall, not necessarily that the scan is bad in quality, but the colors are a tad bit dead here. You can either duplicate the layer then choose soft light on it or overlay to bring out more vivid colors, not to mention it can use a bit of sharpening, especially the supposedly vector graphics.

Well I appreciate the criticism. I disagree with it being too plain however. The idea was to center the focus on Motoko. And the negative space helps draw your eye to her and keeps it clean. I didnt make it too colorful because thats not really the way the SAC series looks, it has a bit of a "dry" look to it. So I decided to keep that. It's all personal preference really. I do need to fix that white line on the bottom though, I'm not sure what the hell that is. lol And yes, the scan is not the cleanest I've seen... but I still like it.
And as for Kennys post. It would seem he's just doing it for papers.
