This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Hello ... I was browsing the scans here in AP .. and I found this great one and downloaded it .. I clicked add for wishlist to get to it later for credits but can't find where I can view my wishlist (noob) .

basicly this is my third wallpaper in session Zero . the problem is that I think it is too simple :) and has Sepia tone just to blend it nicely . and feels empty so any critique and advices are appreciated . I just loved the scan and had to make a wall of it . and it would be nice to submit a wall here in AP , alright enough talk . here is the work .

BG from scx.hu with slight modification with clone tool and lightening and shadows manually . sun is a lens flare . so ... waiting the feed back

I like simple walls. The only problem I see is the sword that is in front of her (the larger one) doesn't blend well. I think it has to do with the light reflection on the front of the hilt when the light is coming from the back of the wall. The other sword that is behind her works I think. I like what you did with the word.

Let's see... the scan is a bit jagged on the outlines, so you should fix the extraction... I don't really know how to deal with it because I suck at extraction so I just go with vector. >_<
As for the background, it looks too realistic, try to apply some filters, blurs, overlayers, etc... experiment with the picture.
Hope I'm being helpful... good luck

Your wishlist can be see by being logged on and holding your hand cursor over the tab that says "myself". at this point, a drop list should appear. the second last one from the bottom is "my scan wishlist". i think your wishlist might just also be viewable through the "gallery" tab, but the first method definitely exists.

about your wall: the extraction is very jagged. did you manually and carefully extract this wall with the appropriate tool in a good software? AP has high quality standards so jaggy extraction will not be overlooked.

as well, the bg is a stock, which seems untreated. if you would so kindly read the FAQ of AP, it states somewhere in the "wallpaper" section that the useage of untreated/nearly untreated stock for a bg will result in rejection. from what i remember, that's what it should say. why? because it lacks effort and does not show much creativity. both of which are valued in walling.

as well, she fits in fine, but where the front part of her dress rests directly on top of the sand, that's where it seems strange. there should be a bit of a faint shadow there. i hope you can understand what i mean by this.

I like the way you did the over all look but I agree that the bg is too realistic. Try doing some owrk on it, maybe pastel brush or something like that, maybe texture too. The char needs to have some work done on the border, make it blen d a bit more with the bg.
Good luck!

Yup, more than one quote can be included per post, so you actually didn't have to post five separate times to answer somebody (in the previous version of AP, you weren't allowed to double-post; you've quintuple-posted). and normally, when you are answering the comment of another user, you just simply put, for example if i'm replying to you, "@ATrueShinigami". that way, you are specifying whom you are talking to. and every person knows what himself or herself has said previously.

yes, as any good person will tell you, the FAQ can be helpful and it will prevent you from making stupid mistakes. it's better to know the rules than to cry about or regret not knowing them after you've received the consequences of not knowing, right? :]

and definitely do not use the magic wand tool to do the extraction! walling is not about the fastest short cut because quality comes before saving yourself some time and trouble ;P so please fix up some things and update. ^^
