Time travelling
Well, i have come acrossed some books on time travelling and read a novel on it and i have to say i think its possible, hey Einstein thinks its possible...but what do you think?
Hundreds of years ago, people thought it was impossible for humans to fly, but we've managed to do that. Lots of the stuff today we do and take for granted, hundreds of years ago people could only dream of doing. I'd like to think of time traveling as one of those things that we're dreaming right now, but perhaps, just perhaps, 200 years from now or something, someone does invent a time machine of some sort. It's pretty far-fetched, but then again, lots of the stuff we do today seem pretty far fetched back then.
If "time traveling" were to be possible, I wouldn't think it would be something so outrageous as something that you could go back, and say, assassinate Hitler and avert World War II. I'd like to think of time traveling as just visiting the past, but not being able to affect it. It's kind of like watching television, I'd like to think of it that way. For example maybe people could use some kind of machine that could "look" into one of their past event, say their high school graduation or something a couple of years ago, and watch it all over again as if they were there, looking through the eyes of them self from back then, but not actually being there, more like looking at a television, and on the television, you'd be seeing a first-person view of that event. I think that's a pretty safe way of "time traveling" as opposed to the way most people think, where if you go back to the past, change something, something in the present day will be changed, because if you look at the way I look at it, that whole idea of changing something in the past and affecting the future doesn't apply anymore.
I doubt such a technology will be invented in my life time though...

I'm guessing that time travel is impossible. =( I mean the science behind it is iffy, but imagine if someone did discover how to travel through time. They would undoubtedly go back in time and mess up something (even shifting around some molecules by displacing air would cause a small change) and create a paradox. If they did, then you'd have to believe in multiple universes to resolve it (which isn't too far fetched), but then returning from time travel would never be possible because you'd never end up in the universe you started in. You could come back to a universe similar to the one you started in, but it would never quite be the same one.
I dunno, so basically, people will never have a "working time machine" because they'll build one and disappear from the universe they created it in if they ever use it. ;)

I tihing its possible but you can onlyo to future ,tehere is no possible travel to past in theory.Time travel is the concept of moving backwards and/or forwards to different points in time, in a manner analogous to moving through space. Additionally, some interpretations of time travel suggest the possibility of travel between parallel realities or universes.Although time travel has been a common plot device in fiction since the 19th century, and one-way travel into the future is arguably possible given the phenomenon of time dilation in the theory of general relativity, it is currently unknown whether the laws of physics would allow backwards time travel. Any technological device, whether fictional or hypothetical, that is used to achieve two-way time travel is known as a time machine. So,thre a thing as time travel
I think it is impossible.
It's impossible of course... there's no such things...
that's only exist in movies, drama, etc.
If you like something like that may be you'll enjoy watching heroes...
there's a man named Hiro who can bend time and space also known as time travel...

Hmmm...
It might be possible, speaking in the sense of pure science, I will explain a few things lightly O_o; (as I remember them)
(based on Einstein) It is known that as an object approaches the speed of light, time starts to slow down in regards to the object itself, hence it ages slower where as time outside the frame continues to move at a regular pace, ofcourse as any object approaches the speed of light, it will be converted into energy.
(In Quantom Physics) It is known that particles have the tendancy to vanish from this universe, and reappear once again at a diffrent vector, and as a given it is believed that these particles disappear into an alternate universe from a certain point, and re-enter our universe at a new point. Believe it or not, this is a natural and common occuring phenomenon, ofcourse it occurs at the atomic level. It has been calculated though, that the possibility for all the atoms of a person or an object to naturally exit this universe, and re-appear once again (in the same exact order) on mars have a 1 second in 16,000,000,000 years (which is 4 times more than the time the earth has currently existed) chance (if I remember correctly).
Also, it is believed that black holes may indeed lead somewhere (if you are able to get to the other side) since they do cause alot of fluctuations, and have the ability to bend even light.
So, anything is possible (except kitties that shoot laser beams from their eyes... or any other animal for that matter).
In my final conclusion though I believe pausing time for a person or slowing it down enough for them to live thousands of years, may be very very possible, but I doubt people can literally travel back and forth in time. Time cant go negative O_o

Hmm...
do i believe we can travel through time?
of course! ^-^
I mean humans have a naturally huge brain and the average human can only access a small part of it. Im sure that if we could access all of our brain power then time travel would be one of the least of things we could be doing. ^-^

Time travel is one of the most fascinating subjects I know and apparently it's possible.
On the other hand, not so long ago people thought that we were going to be able to live in Mars by the year 2000 =P
You mean this? lol
@Kaizor: Hiro RULEZ! Also in L O S T the time traveling subject is present.

In basic physics the theory goes like this,
As evilmaniac pointed out, when an object approaches a fraction of the speed of light, time slows down in relation to the object, but not to the environment surrounding it. That's allright, however according to our understandment of physics right now it should be impossible to timetravel, why? Cause when an object approaches a fraction of that of the speed of light it gains mass, yet how do you keep that mass going? Well, fueling it with more energy, so what does this mean? That to get an object of mass 'x' to the speed of light you'll need infite energy since the mass will become infinite as well...yeah, kinda sucks to see it that way.
But hey, that's what our basic understanding of physics are at the moment, after all light has been argued to be in the 4th dimension, since it acts as a wave and as a frequency (something that nothing else does). So if light is in the 4th dimension what can that mean? It means that light is in direct ability to alter time itself, cool eh?
Well I don't close off any possibilities, maybe we may not reach the speed of light, but we could probably bend the fabric of space itself to go back or forth in time or travel to far away places in a blink of an eye...we'll just have to see (if we're still alive that is xD)

Hmmm...maybe there will be someday
Theoretically, it is possible for time travel to occur and to control it. Once again, in theory. In reality? As of now, no; mankind doesn't have the technology yet to control that kind of thing (much less artificially create it in a stable state). Maybe in the future if technology permits we can since we already have the theories and ideas behind it worked out; trial and error does wonders.
But if we had it now, that would be SWEET!
But if we had it now, that would be SWEET!
I don't think its possible.I mean, the fabric of time is not like anything humans have developed before...And seeing as how time was someone not concrete, but was rather something...hard to explain,by all means humans don't have the ability to make something that allows time travel.I mean, time was not an technology, right?
