Hello, guys!

This would be my first submission on AP. I know it was my only accepted submission at Minitokyo. I am expecting it will be accepted at AP as well.
But as the community suggests, I'll first post it at the Session Zero section. :)

This is a wallpaper inspired on my own scanned drawing, which I later edited on the computer, with Inkscape (vector editor) for the outline, and Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for the coloring and shading.

I know the art is not the best... It was my first try on vector art and first serious use of Pen Tool (Bezier). Please do not be rude on the drawing... I'll do better next time. I am here for the wallpaper's quality! ^^

• If I don’t critique the drawing quality the moderators will ( and they’ll take papers from you). I’m almost certain that the drawing you’re trying to submit has not enough quality for AP standards.

• It is a very good vectoring work (it looks just like your drawing), you did great coloring the drawing in Photoshop, and you should probably put more effort on the background. But I’m not sure about the image quality… my suggestion is that you try with another image ( check the scans section) and start from there.

*Sighs*... Do you think you can give me more specific feedback on how to improve this one? I am really new to this wallpaper issue, and don't know of any way to improve a background. I've tried many times, and I always get my submissions deleted, that is, in Minitokyo. They would not specify why the submission wasn't accepted. I hope things are a bit different in that aspect, at AP.

I think what he's referring to is the quality of the drawing itself. The vectoring is nice, but take a look around the gallery--it's a little sub par. Sorry, I wish there was a nicer way of saying it. XD

That said, the bg looks a little plain. Considering how you totally vectored the image, try vectoring a background too. It'd make the image blend more into the bg. The text...is sorta wierd...once you change the background, see what else would work better.

And no, if your submission gets denied, they don't tell you why. They tell you to bring it into SZ and havs us tell you why. XD

You should also read the AP Guide (on the right of this thread) to know all about the quality and the drawing scan etc...

Cause normally no personal draw are accepted on a wall paper...

About the vectorization I think it's a pretty nice job... But is it my screen or is there some jaggy lines all over?

About the background... I don't know how to improve yours but check around on the gallery about the other wallpapers... And you'll see what we mean by improving.. ;)

But yes, I read the whole guide and nothing referring to original drawings. So I guess I'll just drop this one... Heh.
