This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Hi to all.. I really need help for the background of my next work. Well, I have a stock picture (which I will use for my next wall) with a tree and a grassy plain. The problem is that the pic was taken by day and I need the wallpaper I'm doing to be a night-view. So the colours, tones and everything else must be different to give it a night effect. Anybody got any tutorial or any idea how I can turn that stock pic in a night-scene?

I've been looking for a similar pic but taken at night but I could not find anything. Help me plz!

And also, since the wallpaper is anime-themed, and the wallpaper is real-life pic, how can I anime-ize that pic? (But I think if it's a night view, it won't make any difference). I don't think vectoring it will do any good to it...

Here's what I've tried:
-Levels didn't give a good result apart blackening the pic. Nor curves. Nor brightness/contrast.
-Lighting effects were no good.
-Desaturation and levelling then recolouring gave a pretty good effect but was hardly satisfactory.

Thanks to anybody who can help me!

Okay so...you have to figure out someway to make the pic darker...and then, since that picture is a real life photo, you have to find someway to make it look like anime?

Well, for the first problem...have you tried hue/saturation? If it were at night it'd probably be the same color, only way more desaturated/bright...level should've worked though...o.O

About the anime...well...yeah basically, I think you're stuck vectoring it. Unless there's some way to manipulate filters, like median>cutout>dry brush (maybe not in that order...XD) I think you're gonna have to revector it.

Well...for making your day pic into a night one...just google "day to night photoshop tutorial" I found quite a few that you could look at...try a few of them out and see how the results look

As for making the picture into a more animelike picture...I'm honestly not sure what to do...a lot of people just leave the realism and instead of trying to change it...work with it...I guess it really all depends on the style your wall is...that's all

Sorry for not being able to help much...good luck on your wall! ^_^
