Scared of your famliy or friends going to make fun of your music?
My famliy thinks I'm werid I listen to japanese music like Utatda Hikaru and some from other anime shoes. I can't help it. Like listening to them. Then is comes to the orchestra music I love listening to. I like other music. But my famliy thinks that's werid. So I try hiding it.
The other day I got a chance to see my dad in the first time in like years. So, we go to Best Buy and he tells me he wants to buy something we could all listen to from my i-pod. He bought this i-trip thing that let's you listen to your i-pod wirelessly on the radio. At first I thought it was cool than I remembered I have music that most people wouldn't want to listen to.
Does anyone have this kind of problem?

Yeah, my parents think I'm weird for listening to Japanese music. At first it was really awkward but since I'm at the age where I can do what I want they don't even care, it's something I like doing so they're cool with it.
They already do make fun of me for it :)

Rofl, no, not with me, I guess. I've been listening to all kind of languages anyway >.> I wouldn't find it weird, I think it is cool instead D: (But I guess I find anything unusual cool XD)
He said 'for everyone to listen to' so only playing your kind of music... would be selfish? You should listen to what all of you like, that's what he said =p He didn't say 'let's buy this and play this jap music'

Never really had that problem...If someone in my car says, "I'd rather listen to something else," then I'll courteously change it. My family knows what I listen to and dont really mind at all.
Oh hell yeah, I do...I have a good system, and I drive around the city, windows down, playing Houki Boshi, or Kimi ni Fuku Kaze, or whatever...and I have no sympathy because others would subject me to like Paris Hilton, or Chingy or some other stuff without any thought...so at least my stuff ain't vulgar.

Mmm well the japanase music is good, in special maaya sakamoto, and someone ost of series, example; trinity blood, elfen lied, and air gear, that music is different and great, personaly i like so much jmusic
Although my family will tease me about it, and my brother doesn't understand at all how I can like this type of music, it's okay. I don't force them to listen to it, so it's not like they can complain. XP

Sure it's a little awkward when people ask me "What are you always listening to?" or "Can I see your playlist?" (<--on my ipod ^_^) But I don't really mind as much as I did before...A lot of my friends listen to really "different" kinds of music...and I'm no exception ^_^

My family and friends always make fun of my preference to jap music, but what can i say? it's more appealing to me, and i think it's better than the noise you hear on mtv these days (don't like english rap XP)

Well my brother pays me out, but only cause he hates all the music I listen to lol. Other than that my family don't really care, so long as I'm not blasting it through the house, there cool. I usually just listen to it in my room, I dont think they really know what music I listen to.

A lot of people think its weird that i listen to japanese music, but they find it interesting at the same time haha.

Yea i could understand that it's always hard for parents to understand why we listen to the music that we listen to. i listen to such a variety of music that my mom actually likes a portion of them. But then again, most of the Jpop or Kpop to her is just noise. I guess the old chinese soothing style is definitely different from the rock and roll modern jpop that we sometimes listen to. Friends as well... IN my dorm, i listen to all kinds of music and lots of my friends laugh but i seriously don't care...because if i have to listen to their nasal country or ghetto rap everyday...then i am bound to blast my music as well!!

Are you chinese? Sorry if it was blunt of me to say that, but I've never listened to chinese music. I've heard Tibetnese music but not chinese. Yeah, and my mom says that some of my music I lissten to is just noise. My uncle says the same thing.
