what do u think about cruelty toward animals??
Just wondering how do you guys feel about cruelty towards animal..
To kill the animals without damaging their fur, trappers usually strangle, beat, or stomp them to death. Animals on fur farms may be gassed, electrocuted, poisoned with strychnine, or have their necks snapped. These methods are not 100 percent effective and some animals "wake up" while being skinned
to me..it is a very cruel way to treat animals so inhumanly! like gosh if you watched the video you understand what am i talking about!

I know what you`re talking about. I understand how you feel.
I think so it`s cruel to kill and take off their leather mercilessly.
You know people in the North Pole can`t live in winter without fur.
Even there are worm coats with chemical fibers, those are not very worm like it.
I`m sorry to say like this. Anyway it`s going too far...;;;;
But If there is one hope, there are people like you who like, keep and care for animals.
So Don`t care about it seriously.

Just wanted to say PETA is a horrible advisor for animal cruelty. They show the most gruesome ways animals can die (I saw a video where in Korea, dogs were getting skinned alive it was the most horrible sight I have ever seen.) They show stuff like this, saying how much they hate what people do to animals. And yet, when animals in their facility never get picked up and get cared for, they slaughter them themselves. Its the truth and its horrible and I hate PETA. I hate them for their annoyance on fashion runways as well. Stupid hypocrits. ugh.
Anyway, enough with that rant, while I can't stand PETA, I absolute cannot stand animal cruelty as well. Any kind of it. I even get sad for cows that get killed for us to eat. I don't eat meat because of this. (I have no problem with anyone else eating meat, thats not the case at all, just me myself, would never) Thats how emotionally distraught I am about the safety of animals. It just gets me so sad...just thinking about animals getting kicked around makes me sad as well. I don't understand how people act as if animals have no feelings whatsoever and they can be bashed around like objects. Its such a tearful and emotional sight to see. And its hard for me to take in. ;_;

Any kind of cruelty is horrible. Animals, humans, doesn't make a difference- if a life needs to be ended to obtain something then make it so that the process is quick and painless.
For the most part, making it known what goes on behind the scenes is good in creating awareness and evoking change. From the economic perspective, most of the methods used to slay livestock for meat and/or fur are unsanitary, inefficient, and wasteful. However, changes and regulations have been set up and are constantly being revised to make sure that the process remains clean, sanitary, and ethical (In terms of the procedure and not if animals should be killed).
Basically nothing should go to waste.
However, in terms of PETA, trying to cut out animals from society is absurd. "Total animal liberation" they call it. No meat. No pets. My guinea pig loves her home. She's got it good, seriousely. We feed her on call. Clean her bedding every week. Change her water when it needs to be. Leave the air conditioning/heater on whenever we go out of town for more than a day. Food, shelter, luxuries...and they have the nerve to say we shouldn't be allowed to keep pets because it's "against nature's way and they live in bondage"? Bullshit.
If they were talking about Michael Vick then I'd agree...

The only PETA I support is
People for the Eating of Tasty Animals
People for the Eating of Tasty Animals
Well there's Anime "Cruelty" and then there's treating animals like animalsO.o
Personally I see nothing wrong with eating meat~ O.o
The only thing that really bothers me is people that have pets and treat them like crap... if you're going to have a pet and can't treat it right you don't deserve to have it.

I'm vegetarian, and against animal cruelty, but PETA is not a good group to go to to learn about animal cruelty. They are way too ridiculous with their campaigns and give animal cruelty activists a bad name. I am not for "animal liberation" because if Peta gave a damn about animals at all then they would see that zoos and the such are imperative to the survival of many species. Zoos educate and create awareness about endangered animals and influence people to care about animals, but Peta wants no zoos or pets at all. RIDICULOUS.
I would much rather people support groups like ASPCA. *nod* They are MUCH less crazy with their campaigns. ^_~ They mainly focus on cruelty against pets, wich is especially awful because if someone takes an animal as a pet, they are taking on lots of responsibility and it is just evil not to treat pets well. ;_;
I choose not to eat meat because I have the luxury of choosing that option. If I lived in an impoverished place where I had no option of what I ate then I would abandon the idea of cruelty-free eating. It's healthier to give up meat(although I will eat seafood because it is healthy and I feel better about eating non-mammals than animals from land or mammals that I have more of a connection with).
I feel that some animal testing can be justified, such as rabies testing that killed many dogs, but from it came rabies shots which now save countless animal and human lives. But testing such as cosmetic animal testing - killing animals for the sake of shampoo and cosmetics is absolutely intolerable and I refuse to buy products that do cosmetic testing on animals. ;_;
But I feel like people have the right to choose their lifestyle and I wouldn't impose vegetarianism on anyone(not even my best friends, family, or boyfriend) because it doesn't mean anything unless the person chooses for themself. :)
Thanks for the conversation.

I am not afraid to eat meat.
I am not afraid to eat fake meat (made of beans or tofu) and veggies and fruits.
I am not against wearing fur.
I am not against not wearing of fur.

Money makes the world go round and round.
There will be farms for animal meat and skin/fur as long there is a demand.
It is a horrible sight, but keep in mind that since we do not photosythesize to create our food, we must obtain it from other organic bodies. Plants and animals (including humans) are all just a bunch of cells. We sympathize with animals since like them, we share a nervous system (and brains, though not all animals have "brains" pe-se) and the concept of pain (and in these cases, painful death). Point blank is: if we had failed to develop the practices and tools to make ourselves "superior" to the animals, we would have to recognize every day the possibility that we live in a world where if the dogs are not food for you, you may just become food for the dogs. In that sense, I really do not care about PETA and "animal" cruelity.
Ultimately, what was the purpose? Animal cruelity on pets and such is one thing... they were bred to be loyal and obediant "servants" and/or companions humans. Their purpose is different. However, animals bred for food and fur/skin... as cruel as it seems... is bred for food and fur/skin, and as long demand for those products exist (which is natural for someone to want), the suppliers will exist. And if not for the market... some may still do it just because they can.

Well, as long as I don't have to see what happens to those animals it doesn't really matter to me. Then again, if you think about how people back in the day got food, clothing, etc. by hunting you wouldn't be saying this stuff. People are just spoiled now.
Moving on to the subject of pets though. If you abuse your pet, you should be shot.
PETA just scares me in general though, they got some crazy people.

Huh? Uncivilised? But in order to survive, we have to depend on animals don't we? I've nothing against killing of animals for food and clothing, because it's neccessary for survival. I'm sure you've seen how predators hunt. They bring the animal down, and start feeding on them while it' still alive. At least when the plate of chicken arrives on your table, you know it's been dead for sometime... While it may seem cruel, but we have been trying to find the fastest and most efficient way of killing animals without drawing out their suffering. It's best we can do as human beings.
However, as most of them above, I cannot condone cruelties to pets. When we take an animal in as pet, we should have some sense of resposibility as their pet owners. Yet we have things like owners not feeding them, neglecting them, or even delibrately mutilating them out of their frustration. Those people don't deserve to be owners and should be prosecuted for it. Animals are not playthings for us.

I can't tolerate those types of people who are absolutely pro-fur and wear it around. Ugh it's sickening that they can wear a dead animal on their shoulders and have no conscience. It's despicable.
Animal cruelty is a sick, sick thing. I adore my animals, and I love animals in general, and I just can't even begin to fathom why someone would want to harm them. Be it for their sick pleasure, buisness, or fashion. Its just wrong!
I can understand it in some senses, but I still won't agree with it.
