What made you an Anime Otaku?
The very very first time I encountered anime was when DRAGONBALL was aired on a channel! I didn't that it was anime, I just knew that it was a cartoon! I was an elementary student then. I got hooked on it! Then after some time, A lot more "cartoons" were being aired that was similar to it! YU YU Hakusho was the second anime I got accustomed to! Then I met someone who knows about anime. He introduced me to alot of them! So there!! I'm now an official Otaku!! How 'bout you guys??
The first anime that i watched was Doraemon cuz that time i'm still 6 years old...
haha...i know it's funny...then the second anime is sailormoon...
then i don stop until i'm 13 years old...
my fren borrow me a comic magazine that shows a lot of anime...
and that was when i read naruto and beginning to like it...
wow...and i become otaku until this day...
today i'm 17 years old and i think it's been a long time i like anime and manga...
i really miss it when i first saw a cartoon...
haha

We were watching Flame of Recca and Rave and we never stopped liking anime ever since. Anime is super super cool!
Oh my lets see, there was Tekkaman Blade and Rurouni Kenshin and Vampire Hunter D and...too many to list. Tekkaman Blade was the first one I ever saw but it was Rurouni Kenshin that got me officially obsessed. Anime is the best thing to be invented! I don't know how I lived without it before I discovered its greatness.
I would say Naruto. I have always had a anime interest and would watch a little DBZ, Cow Boy Bebop, Kenshin when my friends would watch, but I never fully got into anime untill I started downloading it myself (like... 4 years ago). When I was a freshmen in college, we would have naruto night (when naruto subs were released) every week cause like 10 people on my floor watched naruto
When i got the sudden eurg to watch Cardcaptor Sakura again and started to search it up and then poof anime anime and more anime!

Id have to say Laputa. my dad brought it home from the video shop( rental store ) ( yes i am that old ). Sherlock Hound was also a big fav of mine at the time. I didnt really pay too much attention to its impact, but i guess it converted me to a state of susceptability in later life =P. Growing up in my teens id have to say Akira, Dominion Tank Police and Bubblegum Crash were my staple diet. I Guess at the time you still watch a load of toons, but these were a break from the normal western nonsense, and they were so damn cool! Akira i must admit i had to watch more times than i care to mention to finally appreciate it ( it was subbed ). Plus all the cool stuff was coming out of japan like SF2. It was only later when the internet and ebay arrived that my real downfall began...
All this anime liking started when i was 4 watching Voltes V and Combattler... that was it
My first anime? Oh that will be very early, maybe the saint seiya in the 80's . And then i came to see Dragon Ball in manga, really get obsessed in it! But as to become an anime otaku? i would say, no one... hehe... otaku is too professional for me right now...
I liked a lot of japanese anime when I was little, but back then I didn't even know what anime was. When I grew up I realized that most of my fav cartoons were indeed anime.
I would have the say the fact that anime has a lot of freedom. Most anime movies are better than regular movies, in terms of being interesting, due to anything being able to happen in them. The animation is also usually better and the story lines can be amazing. Anime has a ton of limits and there's simply no limit to how long an anime can be or how great an anime can be.

The first anime I ever watched was Furi Kuri, because i saw a vidio with it on youtube.com and thought "This looks pretty sweet...". After that I watched Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, Midori no Hibi, Gunslinger Girl and so on.
At first...I watch Naruto...not very making me into an otaku...then I watch Bleach....also not really making me into
an otaku...After that, when I search for animes...my friend introduce me to tons of ecchi anime..and thats what makes me an otaku

Well the first anime i watched was Dragon Ball...i didn't know what Anime was back then. Afte that i continued watching Dragon Ball Z, GT and Vandread. I also watched Evangelion and then after watching Gundam and playing Super Robot Wars with my eldest cousin i started drawing Gundams and stuff. At the age of 10, i started watching Anime on TV and started searching for Anime. But the thing that inspire me to become an Otaku was the girls in anime! =333 THEY'RE SoO CUTE! And another thing was Ecchi XP I LOVE ECCHI (but not old enough to old them and i need to get a part-time job to buy some XP)
I used to watch Goshougun and Bismark alot when I was a little. After that I just couldn't stop ^^^
