acne...ewwww
I usually have just little bumps on my face here and there. but every now and then i get one or two pimples on my nose. i use noxzema's cleansing rinse thing and i use this sample from my friends mom since she is a dermatologist. i use it just cause i have the most 'oil' around my nose so thats why my acne shows up there more. i would suggest cutting down on sodas and drinking at least a bottle of water a day. whenever i drink sugary stuff or eat oily food i would break out a bit, so staying away from that sort of stuff and probably eating it at least every other week if you have to, would help a lot.
First off, food doesn't affect acne in the least. Ask a Dermatoligist. I went to a Dermatoligist, whic if you have bad acne, go to one, it is probibly the best thing you could do. I currently use Duac, which is a topical cream. This takes 2-3 weeks to start working, but once it does it works great. A face wash I use is called Brovoxil, and that helps too.
I use to use an antibiotic called Moncycline, but come to find out, that suff causes some sort of liver malfunction. It may have permanty fucked up my liver and now my anti-nucleaic acid in my blood is oddly high.

A healthy diet is said to help stop acne, but even if it isn't true, there's no harm in a healthy diet!
Yep. All you have to do is look at the diets of the healthiest population groups, diets that engender long life and protect against cancer, heart disease, and other degenerative diseases. Acne is also unheard of among these peoples.
There's a reason for that.
These people have never used Clearasil or Tetracycline or anything else like that. You know why? They've never had to.
There's an old programmer's expression: Garbage In/Garbage Out. It's true of the human body as well. Whatever you put into the system effects the system one way or another. Anything bad will have a bad effect.
Acne is merely a symptom of an underlying problem. It's like an engine that doesn't perform optimally because you've put in bad fuel. Get rid of the bad fuel, replace it with good, and your problem will disappear.
Still suffer from it occasionally, but I'm pretty much past that stage now if I simply avoid chocolade (one bar and boom: acne is back) and, like said before, greasy food. It's still a good idea to wash your face every morning and evening with stuff like Clearasil complete -keeps it clean and shiny like a sun. :D

Dont touch your face with your hands, especially if you lean on them, cuz i notice i break out where i usually lean my hands on. i also switch acne face washes every two weeks. i dont know why but when i keep to one face wash for a period of time i start breaking out but right when i switch to something else it dies down o_o. haha. i also use those pore strips once in awhile... drie your face out before you use it, i found it to be the most effective when your face is dry. other than that, a dermatologist might be a good idea :D

The pore strips don't stick to a dry nose, though. o.O
Definitely go for a healthier diet and stay away from greasy junk food, as mentioned. I had a pretty bad acne problem when I was younger. The doctors (none of whom were actually dermatologists) gave me all types of cream, including Retin-A, which I stopped using because it dried out my skin. Everything was peeling. >.> My dermatologist later injected something into the acne itself. It was pretty weird, having a hypodermic needle poking my face. Combined with the cream and face wash she gave me, it worked very well. Then I stopped and just stuck to a particular diet, drank a lot of fluids. (I also use The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil now as a face wash, which also actually helped me a lot, since my skin is fairly sensitive.)
My dermatologist told me that diet doe snot affect acne. Most of the time it is hereditary. Anyways, accutane works wonders, but it has many many side-effects. Speak to your doctor :o

I do have some acne clearing face wash and I know that they do work well for me, but I'm just too lazy so I kinda let my pimples grow. I don't really care. Bio Zinc helps a little with pimple clearing. try it. Just don't be lazy if you want clear skin.
I had some problems a few years ago with acne >.< i tried some creams and stuff, but they didn't really work and some of the fashwashes REALLY dried out my skin (yucky).. you don't wanna have your face be SOO dry, b/c in the end your body will produce more oil which will actually make your acne worse ((aka the beach, for a moment you're acne clear cuz of the salt water, but then your bursting with zits >.<))... so whenever you wash your face, i'd go for a (non greasy) face moisturizer so that your face won't be so dry... then i did carry around some of those "wipes" that you use to wipe the oil off your face during midday or whatever ((cuz my face would be all shiny by noon >.<))
but yea.. just make a plan and stick with it.. plus acne does go down once you're older ((i'm 18 and it's gone down a lot since i was 16)), but due to school stressing i am breaking out again, and much go back to my regime so it goes away again...

Food definately effects my complexion...so, I pretty much stopped drinking pop and eating greasy food ;_; Oh well, I'm sure other parts of my body thanked me for the change too XD
Invest in some of those little Clearasil wipes that come in a little can thingie. Keep it in your bag and whenever you get done eating, or just have a break, screw open the jar and use it. It'll help dry up the oil on your face and keep it clean. Stress could also play a major role too. I found out that once I had graduated from high school...my acne breakouts suddenly stopped o_o
But, if none of the over-the-counter medicines are working, then see a dermatologist. Usually they end up putting you on a antibiotic.
-I've heard of Proactiv and have seen it on tv...heard that it works very well...maybe I should try it myself...If it gets that bad anyway.

That's interesting - genetics and acne. I've never been told about that, not even from my dermatologist. Personally, most of my family (and certainly my parents) do not have acne, so that makes me more unsure of the validity of genetics playing a significant role in acne. My worst case was around junior high, where I ate just about anything - especially junk food. I suspect puberty also affects it to some degree, what with the hormonal imbalances.
I have none o.o
It should be that time for me to get acne and stuff but my face is very clear

Well here are some tips
-Wash your face every night before you go to bed [try not to use scented soaps which can irritate skin and make acne worse, look for products and soaps that say "HYPOALLERGENIC" ;once in a while use the stridex face wipes- they help alot]
-If you ever get whiteheads or blackheads POP THEM before they get worse, wash yer face then put a little stridex on it [stridex helps to get rid of the redness and prevents breakouts to scar]
-If you ever are faced with peeling, wash yer face with cool water, then put on a little moisturizer [Only use Oil free, unscented moisturizer, or else your in for it]
-I really dont think FOOD has ANYTHING of the sort to do with acne [its just something parents say to make you eat healthier -so dont listen to that crap!!] But just try not to eat to much greasy foods...i think that DOES have something to do with acne
-dont put your hands on your face unless they're CLEAN!!
-Change your pillocase 1 a week, cuz it gets dirty with oil from face and hair
These tips are very helpful, and they work on me, so dont be afriad to try them! ^^
