As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

For the record, the time I shed tears over printed matter was during the build up between The Scouring of the Shire to the end of Return of the King. The sheer poignancy of the whole scene where Gandalf gives his little speech about companions and Farewells was too much for me.

As for laughing until my eyes watered however, there was Azumanga.

Only once when I was real all teary/runny nose bawling and that was the FIRST manga I ever read: Fushigi Yuugi, and no it had NOTHING to do with Miaka and Tamahome because they do enough crying for me...

The funny thing was, it was my first ever Japanese manga and I had no translations and I was reading with a hiiragana/katakana sheet next to me so needless to say I didn't get MUCH...but the wonderful thing with Watase Yuu is that if she needs to get the emotion across, she'll do it with her images, not the words.

yup yup...i agree!! *sniffs* it is a very sad anime/manga! :(

Cried when I watched the Gladiator.
Cried when I watched the God Father.
They are more movies that made me cry, but I've forgotten their titles sadly.

Other then that, I cry when something horrible happens in my life.

--------------------------------

The Hardest is to make the viewer or maybe readers cry when the story is actually happy then sad...
do you agree..?

None of the mangas I've read are good enough to make me cry. None are sad enough. I read a lot of action-packed happy mangas so I'm can't cry x3 Same with anime.

Not really, I feel sad sometimes if a character I like dies, but other then that, I never cry. Types of mangas/animes that make me most sad are probably romance types. I feel sad when my favorite girl wasn't chosen, or she did something sad, like give up on him and move on, etc. Those types of things always get to me. =/

I cry sometimes. But most of the anime/manga I watch/read don't usually have much teary scenes. I did cry a little over Angel Heart, though, when I was reading the first two or three volumes.

The closest that I got to crying over reading manga was just a few teardrops, and that was while reading Fruits Basket, during those parts that involve Momiji and his family. (Poor Momiji!) But I did cry buckets when I was watching the episode on Momiji...guess it's the background music that caused it.

I guess i shed a few tears reading a certain chapter of get backers...
it's the one with the death of amon...
and how emishi copes with it...
the part where they created a sort of illusion at mugenjou was just beautiful... :)
