What manga got u the most?
I don't really buy mangas because they are extremely overpriced but if I think a series is worth getting from reading many volumes of it first I would consider purchasing it but that option is also sometimes rendered due to the fact that some mangas just have too many volumes and it will cost me fortunes to get... but for thos mangas that are around 5 volumes long or so and has a really good storyline hehehe I do love ranma and FMA but those have so many volumes I think i might buy it in Korea when they have those HUGE sale everything for like 2bucks or sumthing hahaha >< I wish FMA is way too popular for that -_-
but yes mangas to me draw attention by first drawing because I love beautiful artwork and interesting concept ^-^ I read just about anything my friends reccomend to me though

Took me like 10 seconds before I was completely hooked on Gantz. The story is insane, artwork looks amazing, and the character development is really well done. Definitely one of my personal favorites.
- it is extremely graphic though, so I wouldn't recommend it to everyone.

What caches my eye is either the title or the art of the cover...but usually when I look in em it turns out to be mostly flash and no bang...but now I hunt for mangas that I shread to peices for a pic or two that I like to draw or use in my art, and I read the synopsis on the backs to see if theyre entertaining(to this date I have never bought a trans lated manga)hehehe!
I looked at the pictures usually and then the story. Sometimes, there are really good story with ugly artworks that just sad. I can't stand HunterXHunter's backgrounds. The artists seem so lazy to draw it. Normally, i dont buy a manga in volume 1. I always started in the middle like Bleach vol. 13, Naruto vol. 7 and Get Backers 9. Rarly, that i ever started in Vol. 1 unless i already know the story and saw the art really good.
I tend to look at the cover and read the back. Then flip through the manga. (Not Reading) Aftwards I'll probally buy at least 2 volumes.

I dont have any manga books, because i get them from the library...
A friend of mine (online) suggested that I check a specific one out (Princess Ai) and I ended up liking it quite a bit so I decided to pick up another series, and the rest is just a long history of addictive manga-ing.
I just look at the front cover because the manga i got are always sealed in shops..damn... so mainly the style and if the stories are interesting enough.
Ah... I'd have to say Gravitation. I don't own much manga, mainly because the ones I like aren't in English or are in English and are just horribly translated. I own all of Gravitation. Manga and anime. I like to support the mangaka's I like.

I love clamp cause the pictures, FMA cause the history and pictures, and neon genesis evangelion cause Ayanami and the pictures, and, well, I really love drawing, so see profissional works is amazing *__*
Dorohedoro, not many know it, but its my faivourite. The front cover: This really got me excited. Seemed like the perfect manga for me. And now i am hooked, the only bad thing is, the translators take a while to translate it (about 6 or so months for one chapter -_-) they are busy with other more popular manga i guess.
I actually saw Hana-kimi on the store, and i loved the book cover so I decided to go ahead and buy it, and oh my gosh I was the lcjiest person ever, it became so clear that hana kimi was a great series of 28 volumes and its one of my top five favorite mangas :)
What, how, and if I buy depends on my mood and who I am with while shopping.(For example; it's hard to sit down and flip through a book when you have a group of antsy people travelling with you. Money, unfortunately, also tends to be a problem when buying) What I love about Border's and other such bookstores is you don't have to buy the books that you read there. However, if a book or Manga that I read has a great enough impact I will save (if I have to) to buy it.
More than plot; I find that well developed characters, dialogue, and artistic style are what draw me in. An excellent example of this (In my humble opinion) is the Blade of the Immortal series. I find that everything about it is enticing and what makes it even better is that after the 14 volumes that I've purchased thus far; I've yet to become bored of it.
