Harry Potter banned?!
That is just wierd. I mean don't you think they are getting a bit overboard with banning things now?
I mean they might as well ban everything. I mean how about Cinderella. A pumpkin can't really turn into a carrige right? And no one really sleeps for 100 years and still looks like a beautiful young lady. But that's just my own opinion.
I don't think it's fair.

I've heard about this before, we discussed this in English. It's banned for talking about fictionous things and such. You can't learn anything from wizardry. So, it's understandable that it is banned.

You're right, but HP has a lot of morals inbedded in it, too. Then, kids in middle and high school would have most of their morals set by then anyhow. I don't agree with banning books at all. We shelter our kids too much, if you ask me. Other countries don't do that. Heck, look at anime. In it's japanese form- before it gets molested by the english dub- it has cursing, nudity, violence. Anyhow.. I don't see anything wrong with having fiction books for entertainment in a school library for kids to check out and read on their own time. I don't think these types of books should ever been assigned at that level of education- it would just be busy work. Sure, it's important to get kids reading by using entertaining books at an early age- but the Harry Potter series is aimed at an older crowd mostly (by older I mean older kids- even though I am an HP loving adult). ^_^

Don't like that one bit!!
I love that saga and anyone who thinks it promotes witchcraft is reading WAY too into things. People usually think of bllod sacrifices and what not, but in all six books, yes there are deaths (and OK, a hand was lopped off for one potion) you won't find a single pentagram or satanatic refererence or the other fun stuff people don't like much.
Personally I think the California sun is getting to those people who'd ever want to ban this series. it's an amazing, magical world and if I belived in souls, I'd probably sell mine to live there

I also think its stupid...harry potter is fantasy which means it shouldn't be taken literally...and if people are actually believing this stuff then its their choice and their problem..and its not like everyone thinks the world of harry potter is real. anyway...that's my opinion.
