would you read the manga after watching the anime version?

I always read manga after watching the anime. For lots a reasons. Mainly because it's just good to see the source. However, it was hard for me to read the FMA manga after anime.
Sure. If I like the anime enough, I'm sure to like the manga as well. (Especially if it was one of those many cases where the anime is an adaptation of a manga.)
I really like the Evangelion manga though, almost more than the anime series! And the manga of that was based on the anime, rather than the other way around.
I find that I'm much more likely to go after the amnga version than the anime, whatever the situation . . . after all, you can just flip open the manga and read it in the bookstore for a "test drive", but you can't do that with anime, so it's a much bigger dissapointment if you buy a DVD and later find out that it sucks. Even if you can get a refund, it still bugs you a bit.

It depends on the series. There's only been a few series thus far that made me read the manga version. For example, Trinity Blood and Bleach. Although, there is Naruto, which made me steer very clear of the manga. I actually have some of the manga because at first, I liked it. Then after a while, I realized I didn't like it enough to keep up with the manga so I stopped.
Yes, of course! Besides, I mostly think that the manga is better than the anime...
That is for sure if the story line in the manga is much better than the story line in the anime like Chrno Crusade.
Like many others, i prefer reading manga first then watch the anime. Manga is basically the more accurate version of what the author wants to tell. This generally leads to longer storyline and also side stories which are very interesting. :P

Sure why not i've done it with Bleach!
Yeah definately just to see how its different or little things that they changed
I actually try to read the original manga version BEFORE seeing the anime. Sometimes, there are cool action sequences in the manga that I can look forward to seeing animated. But seeing them in the anime FIRST just makes the manga version seem lame, or lacking. I'd much rather read the source first and then look forward to seeing it animated and accompanied by voices and music later. I've collected anime titles and still have not watched a single volume yet (ie Fushigi Yuugi) because I want to read the manga first, and just haven't gotten around to it yet.
I sometimes do, but most of the time, i just watch the anime and that's it. And the thing is, if the manga are available or not. Most of the time they are not. The manga and anime are really different, the manga allows the mangaka to do what he/she wants with the story at he/she's pace. But the anime, it have to fit in the Timeslot of 20 odd minutes, and have to move and so on, it really difficult for everylittle thing thats in the manga to be in the anime. That is why most people say that they like the manga storyline better.
Yes, i would definitely read it, because I tend to think that the manga is always better. But then again, I usually read the manga first and then watch the anime. Except in the case of shaman king, but when I did read the manga, I found it much better. And that's actually the only thing I've seen the anime first and and read the manga later. . .

I would if I liked the series. If it was one of those its good but nothing special animes, then I don't think I would read the manga unless the anime was said to be way different than the manga.

I read the manga and watch the anime at the same time, for most that i really like, like tsubasa chronicles, mahou sensei negima, card captor sakura etc.
this way you can get both sides of the story, as not everything's covered in each one, and sometimes different stuff happens.
eg in trc, there's an episode where they go to a world that's not featured in the anime, and in ccs, the ending isn't "complete" in the anime as it is in the manga.

I tend to watch the anime first, (Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Tokyo Bayalon, etc.) jsut because Anime fis on TV and I'm lazy that way. Each of them I've went to the manga because I liked the story and I was bored. Some I've tried the manga by word of mouth, (Chobits, Ranma 1/2, etc.) mainly becuse I get all of my manga from the library, and they didn't have anymore of the other series. Some others I've picked up ju7st to figure out what the hell is going on (Ghost in the Shell) This tends not to help any, I just get more confused, but you can see where the Anime directors got their insporation (or hunks of plot) and to see the artist's orgional consept of the characters. (such as Mokoto is alot funnier in the manga than the animes)

You bet! Manga rules anyway. Did You compare Hellsing manga vs anime? The anime has the lousiest Ceres Victoria ever! She is so lame, while manga artists made hear really cute and sexy. I have no idea how they could spoil it sooo much in anime...
