How is it like watching an anime with stereo and subtitles you don't understand and you bought it.

Hello. I put up this post after I bought Basilisk, an anime I was looking for. Later when I got home, I found out that it was full chinese(I don't really understand). I really was upset and real down that day and the day after. How was it for you guys?

Well, I guess that's for you to learn not to buy pirated stuff. If you're going to buy a anime dvd, you really should look for the originals, anything other than that is unreliable. I've never bought myself those "unofficial" anime dvds, because I don't like the quality of the material.
Ha-Ha. I got problems with Basilisk too! I've bought it in spanish! But than my friend had a birthsday and she know spanish. You've already understood what I 've done, right!

I hate that stuff because not only do you not get to enjoy the anime but you wasted money! precious monnnney!
Haven't got a clue what it should be like as I can't buy anime on DVD in Belgium. So I make use of the fansubs (which are great imo).
Code me perfection.
I have to go with dixneuf on this. Watch out next time what you buy. I'm afraid to buy on the internet because there is a chance you would guy pirated DVDs and lose money because of it. I would be really upset if I found out that I bought pirated DVDs.

Bah that sucks : /. That happened to me be4 when I bought like a whole season on eBay for 7$. When it came all the subtitles were all awkward and didnt make sense. Thats the last time I buy anything from eBay

Glad I make sure I buy the actual DVD not pirated ones from official retailers and the like but yea that sucks with you. Mistakes are the food you eat to learn to do the right thing.

That happened to me with flame of recca. i just when back to the shop and start nagging to the one who sold it to me and i got a new copy from different company.well, for your information i cant offord to by the original since it too expensive here.
I sort of had the same issue with Steel Angel Kurumi, i my friend bought it off of EBAY and he told me it was a pirated honkong version. The casing was exactly like the USA packaging, so i told myself "Ill give it a shot." 5 minutes in the first episode i turned the damn thing off... The subtitles had a lot of misspelled English, some werent even logical sentences! I had my laugh and returned it to my friend that still was convinced that the video was well worth the $30 for the first season.
Well i think we're all aloud one mistake, and this experience saved me that one mistake, from now on i just watch dual audios and fansubs off the net, and if i really REALLy like the anime and there is a thinpack of the entire season, ill go out and buy it. Done it with gantz, FMP Fumoffu!, etc.

Oh, sorry. I forgot to tell you guys that it was original. It's just that I was too anxious to buy it, so, just for this time, I didn't look at the back for the language and subtitle. Ha ha ha ha. I bet you all are shaking your heads at me right now. Yeah, I've learned my mistake. I will always and forever check the back for details on it. Yeah, it really did suck. Oh, I didn't know the internet sells pirated stuff. Maybe because nobody I know buys from the internet. But anyway, thanks for your reply. I was planning to get a fansub, but, I don't have a fast internet.

Yea i just don't buy anime from china town or ebay anymore.
Bleck... My experience was a little different.. I bought Gundam SEED VCD from an anime shop.. AN ANIME SHOP thinking that it was the original one.. It was quite expensive too.. When I watched it, it really hurts that I spent so much money for a VCD with horrible english translation... I dont get it but somehow they had to change even English names... Eg. "Strike Gundam" to "Burst Gundam" or something like that... How off can that be?? I am speechless and still wondering what to do with the VCD...
