Just watched the first episode of this new anime Kiba. From the episode I gathered that there is this city locked off from this other world by doors. The city is crape and everyone except Zed has to wear masks so they wouldn't breath in the atmosphere. Anyway Zed is a rebel, who the city wants to suppress because he's the son of a shadow caster.
Tell me if you've seen it.

Ya, I saw this as well. At first I was kinda mad at how good I thought it was going to be, but after we got a look of the other world and the event that is taking place there when he arrives, I was really relieved ^^
I think I'm going to be watching this one, unless it really does turn out to be a boring show. I'm not sure why, but his "spirit fighter" dude (one with wings, etc) kinda bugs me, but it's just his "look" that bugs me, so I shall see how it all turns out. Hard to tell how a show is going to be just with the first episode, so I won't make any final judgements yet.

2. As for the series. I watched the first episode yesterday and rated it as following:

music: great, Both intro and ending tune are smooth and fit the show. I read somewhere that the same dude responsible for gundam wings did the kiba intro. give it a 9

Graphics/atmosphere: great. The show has some nice artwork. I think it tries to get a bit of the final fantasy thing going on there.. giving it a 9 as well

Storyline: not to sure about that. The first episode failed to give a proper introduction of the main characters, but this may be the way the storylinewriters want to do it. All and all i was missing something. One does not really gets motivated or thrilled. giving it a 7 for now, but if the storyline fails to improve than this show will not last long.

I have not gotten this one yet but it is on my list to get. I hope its as good as I have read about. Here is the info from anidb :)

Zedd is a 15-year-old boy who lives in Calm. He is frustrated by his current daily life and feels that somewhere out there is a place where he can live more fully.

One day, at the invitation of a mysterious wind, Zedd dives into a space-time crevasse, seeking the "answer" that might be there.

Riding on the wind, he arrives in a world where warriors called "Shard Casters" fight endlessly with each other, using magical crystals called "Shards".

With the power of the Shards, the Shard Casters are able to use magic and control monsters called "Spirits". Fascinated by that power, Zedd also aims to become a Shard Caster. However, he still doesn`t know that residing in his body is "Amil Gaul", a mighty Spirit with the power to influence the world`s future.

It looks like the typical average shonen anime to me. Nothing to get so excited about. I might be proved wrong though, but that's the first impression I got.

I've got to agree, this show seemed pretty cliche. The whole "kicking down doors" and "school rebel" thing seemed almost emo-ish. Nobody understands Zed.

The show could get better, but it's looking like it might just spiral down into a typical beat-em-up-with-super-powers. Guess we'll just have to see?

It sounds like a good series, but i have never heard of it before. It sounds like a action anime with a good plot.

I also manged to catch the first eposide and thought that there's potential for this to be a really good series. Anyway time will tell if it will deliver the goods, though it's off to a good start IMO.

Well so far I have seen the 1st episode. As for my early review, and my attempt to be objective on the review, I must say so far it is pretty average. Animation wise it is pretty good, which is expected the names backing it (aniplex, TV Tokyo, Geneon). Clean animation, vivid colours, no argument there. Music wise its fine as well. Story wise, well I can't say much since I've only seen the 1st episode. It has a proper premise and a sense of mystery which is good to have as a start, so...I guess...they took the right step forward. But the real question is how the story will develop along with the characters, that is what waits to be seen. Then I could give a proper review for it, as well as some sort of numerical rating out of 10 or something of that sort.

Just saw the second episode.
It was pretty decent but the storyline is very lacking.

I've managed to watch the first two episodes, and I have to say the show has potential. The last part of episode 2 was pretty cool. Anyway I'm curious to see how the series will turn out.

the story is indeed lacking somewhat but you cant expect an anime to have a good story after just 2 episodes

I like the animation and zed looks interresting, the only thing that bothers me is those 3 dots under the eyes of zed,s spirit thing and him keeping his eyes closed all the time
