Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

Hey, coeli, it looks like you're having the same loading problems with this site that I've been having. I think AP.net has a bit of a bug with this design.

At any rate, I think it's a very bad idea to introduce themn to Genshiken as it explains anime and manga fans as a bunch of overzealous and nerdy/fanatical freaks. I would think about introducing them to some lighter anime and manga shows. Genshiken just brings out all of those nerdy traits forward and while that may a good thing some people might think that every fan is strange.

I agree with kenichi...although Genshiken really connects with those of us who already appreciate anime and manga...it'll probably frighten away other people :)
In any case, I think the humor is definitely better when you can relate it to your own experiences...
A better anime introduction would be a Miyazaki movie or more classic series

Yeah loading problems sigh -_-;

Well I let my "sheltered" friend watch Genshiken once and she was like, "Oh now I know what you're so crazy about," after. But then I guess it depends on every person.

Thanks, cyd. I'm not saying not to introduce fans to this series I would just choose al alternate series to introduce them to. Some examples would be: Ai Yori Aoshi, Ah! My Goddess, Seven of Seven, Stellvia, Neon Genesis Evangelion. Just so you get an idea. Also, I'd probably introduce them first to this huge massive book called "Manga, Manga, the World of Japanese Comics ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0870117521/sr=8-1/qid=1140298624/ref=sr_1_1/104-3297393-4860762?%5Fencoding=UTF8 ).

It's a great introduction to the genre in its entirety. You want to introduce the genre to them slowly and in stages. Not everyone takes to anime and manga right away. Some need it introduced to them in stages.

Basically an anime about different kinds of otaku. They have this small club at their university called Genshiken and in their small clubroom, they watch and discuss anime episodes, read manga, cosplay and whatnot.

Mmmmm...Genshiken. I've liked it so far. I find that some of the most hilarious parts come in when the credits are rolling. You wouldn't think that it would be a great place for humor, but it is. Just watch the tv in the corner. Also the fact that one of the otaku's is a pretty man and has a girlfriend is hilarious. The interaction between her and the rest of the club is truly great.

Yea...Genshiken is not bad...how I wish I could buy watever that I want in anime/manga conventions, juz like what sasahara did in the anime. T_T I've been to those conventions before though, but I was facing 'money constraint'......
I'm looking forward to the 2nd season, otaku rocks! haha....

That would be nice but there aren't any conventions like that here in the United States. Wish there were because I'd definately attend one myself.

Ya I liked Genshiken and it was funny. I also watched Kujibiki Unbalance and I kinda wish that they would make it into a full series...that would be cool.

Genshiken is practically, an Otaku's guide to being an otaku. It's a decent series.

You know, I almost went out looking for that anime series Kujibiki UNbalance until I discovered that it was a fake anime show created specifically for the Genshiken series.

Watching Genshiken right now in the anime club at the university I attend.

It's like looking in a mirror.

The kind you'd find in a haunted funhouse of mockery.
