I bought the box set like last year... And i couldn't bring myself to watch it for too long... X( It just kills me! What are your views? Shouild menchi be consumed? Is Hyatt an inspiration to Ken Akamatsu's Mutsumi? Is Excell just plain nuts? And how big is Il Pallazo anyway?
In my opinion, Excel Saga can only be truly enjoyed after seeing lots of anime. Every minute of it is anime/manga references and spoofs. So it's only really funny if you know what they're making fun of. Yeah, it is random like hell, but i came to like this series right from the beginning.
It is fun but also nonsense at the same time. They repeat the jokes couple times. Even though it is enjoyable, it is a little crazy and hard to understand.

I really enjoyed Excel Saga ^_^ and think it's worth taking a look at. :) Yes, there's a lot of nonsense, but I like it lol

I think Hyatt is a shocking parody on guro.
I bought the whole thing and most people became disinterered in it.

I was buying it as the individual dvd's came out. I was able to watch it that way, but I don't think I could sit through it all in one sitting. This is one of the craziest shows I've seen. Even though I thought it WAS funny (subbed mind you), I can't get anyone else to watch it at all...

Well I watched it continuously over 2-3 days and I enjoyed it. yes, eventho I keep seeing them puchus everywhere now.. j/k
I think excel saga anime is pretty much a nonsensical ride, not meant to be understood nor dissected. It all builds up at the end where an actual plot surfaces (omg there is a plot afterall??) Episode 26 however... caution is thrown at the wind and the animators decided to put every crappy thing they could think of :D

Excel saga is too cool. If you ever have a bad day and you watch this you are bound to laugh. Laughter is good.
The into made me laugh so hard. and everything is so random it make me draw WTF on myself without knowticing. it was just funny as hell. i have only seen the first ep and my stomach hurts from laughting. this is one series i can't finish.

I once referred to excel saga as a "26 episode FLCL". now, while i realize that might be giving it a little too much credit, it is still one of the funniest anime series' out there.
Excel Saga is so funny, well when i first saw it i thought it was pretty crap, but i watch on, i got hooked into after seeing the episode where they try to make a war-action-movie. That is so funny, alot of fan service, and parody. Btw, i love the last episode, full on. That was funny. And i would reccommend to people, Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai / Abenobashi Magical Shopping District. The first episode is pretty boring, but other than that its pretty funny, one of my favourites. You will totally love this anime. And like all parodies, i hope you know alot of anime and stuff, because it will only be funny if you do, eg Freeza, DBZ, Jackie Chan and so on. Its a must get. ^_^

Yes, it's very funny. expecially Hyatt, she's very funny and cute. But the one I laugh at most is Pedro and his family, me and my classmate often to laugh at the way he say 'No~!' in almost every episodes. How unlucky, isn't he?
