This happens all the time. When you're honest working man or woman, you'll never get promoted or even lesser bonus. When you're an ass kisser worker suck up to your boss, back stabbing all your friends, and virtually hated by everyone, you usually the fastest one to reach the top. Not only in job, but in school/college also. If you're a good boy/girl you are marked 'naive' by your peers, and more and more they pressure you. If you get along with whatever evil they have in mind, you're easily acceptable and make a lot of friends.

We often see when bad people actually win and got everything. In the government, corrupter can easily get away with hundreds of thousands dollar of tax payer money, while the hardworking father of five always got the reason enough to sack him from the company.

This is pathetic. The world isn't fair. This makes you think if there ever be a God. I just want to know your opinion. Do you agree that if we become a good people, then more bad things will happen to us? And, do you ever experienced being treated unfairly just because you chose to be a good guy?

To answer this ,first I must say "ass kisser worker suck up to your boss, back stabbing all your friends" doesn't realy make someone a good person.

It's true to say the world isn't fair ,but than again so what? , if you know it ,then get use to it...
To be an "ass kisser" or "suck up to the boss" , will never get you any where , it makes a person look pathetic and weak , if you want some thing so much ,there is no reason for you to not have it ,But you must take it , don't try kissing up until you get it , TAKE IT.

Don't try putting hope in other things like God , everything comes from you.
You can be a "good guy" or a "bad guy" , but in the end it doesn't matter.

Although people who cheat their way through life may be the first to advance, they will also be the first to fall when things start going poorly. Work hard and someone will notice your doing a good job. Live life the way you want to and don't let anyone tell you what they think you should do to live your life. Myself, I will be a good guy forever and I won't change that for anything, there's no easy way to get ahead in life.

Uhm well, I do not agree with you, Shellova :) I think someone with 5 kids, has more than someone who's just liked by his boss but no one else. And being on top is not always good for you. You have anything you want, but is that good for you? No way :P You have money, but the people you know are the most arrogant people in the world. And the fans will just become annoying in a short amount of time.

Besides... people who are like that, usually get what they want. But is it what they really want? No, it's not, these people are power addicts, they just want more and more. Do you want to be a power addict? Nah, I don't think so :) You will never be satisfied.

Oh, usually, if a country is organised good enough you can't get away with tax money :) But I agree that if people steal so much without regretting it they are not good enough to be working for a government. :/ There's a bright side tho, if he spends the money it will go back to the country anyway :P

Ah well, anyways.. I like to look at things on the bright side of life :) I've looking at the bad side for too long. I believe life is all about balance, if someone is doing something bad, there's always someone who will profit. If you look at it that way, you can always find something that will pay back. And if not, make something so you can close the memory in your mind at least, so that it doesn't hunt you down. I mean, if you're bad, you'll steal something later in your life and and up in jail.

And yes, I've experienced being treated as a bad person, while I was good. I'd rather leave those memories behind though :/ Plus I've learned something from it, which is good :) I've basically become immune to people who want to use me, because I'm 'naive'.

*ends wall of text, lol. Hope I learned you something at least :) At least my view on the world changed a lot last year. People usually judge themselfs, but still I have to agree, the world is not always fair.

Being good doesn't mean you have to suffer in silence! There is a difference between being nice and being weak- after all no one is perfect, all of us make mistakes (and sometimes on purpose lol)

as for politicians, they are a whole 'nother level. They run differently, I just try to make sure whoever I'm voting for (or will vote for anyway) is at least among the 'lesser evil'.

I've been a good person and a bad person alternately (not that bad, but you get the point) and it feels better being a good person. At least you can relax and let out what you feel. Being bad, you have to watch your back always. And that's the worst torture.

I only read the first post. Basically in the work place, you can be a good worker but the suck ups/ back stabbers show one thing that the "good" person probably doesn't, initiative. Initiative goes a long way in the work place. Even if that person isn't too competent, employers are almost always impressed by someone who shows that initiative to rise up in the world.

Well, I do believe in God, and because of that...

Everyone gets what they deserve in the end. What happens here on Earth is important for what happens in the afterlife. In fact, many Christians believe the worse you endure here on Earth, and are thankful for anyway, the better your life will be in Heaven. It is easy to thank the Lord for the blessings He gives you. Harder to thank him for the pain and hardships.

If you aren't religious at all or don't believe any of that, well- that might be the trouble. lol.. Still you are right. The world isn't fair and it does suck.

Who said that being good guy is easy? It is really hard. But I prefer being good rather than being bad one. Why? It's because when I get back to home, I'm tired, I'm in a bad mood, but when I think about that day I smile to myself and think "I did good work today". I'm not a pracoholic, I'm rather lazy. But if I have to work, I want to work in a way that satisfy me. Being a back stabber doesn't give me satisfaction. Maybe because I think about other's feelings.
And I have to agree with SimplyX. Even if you do your job very good but you just do what others say you to do, you can't expect that you will get promoted. But the most important thing is to be able to show yourself. Let boss know how good are you. And this is what "bad" people are able to be better than you. Speaking about others work as about their, the same with ideas. And by showing others bad sides (if you don't have, they will make something up) they appear as the "pearl among pigs"(probably it is only polish saying, but you understand the meaning).
But in conclusion, I prefer being good because i can live peacefully, without being afraid of somebody telling truth about me to my boss. And I always try to be the good one and I have to say that in most cases it works. Most of people thinks about me in that way.
And being a good person may give you more opportunities to be treated unfairy. But I just don't trust everybody as much as possible. And if somebody treat me unfairy I make him disappear for me(of course if it's possible). And I don't trust that person any more.

Good people never think that bad things happen to them, they work hard and think honestly.

Bad people feels fortunate at the slightest things as they are miserable.

Do you believe in Karma?
if you do, then it's only a matter of time before all the the good things come to good guys, 50 years? 20 years? 1 year? next lifetime? who knows but they'll come sooner or later. Good guys gets the last laugh, baddies? see you in hell? or maybe somewhere way after that.

Let's say someone really evil... Here in mexico there was a narco called "el huero Palma" (The blond Palma)... lots of money, total impunity. One day, he receives the head of his wife in a gift box... some months later he ends up in jail... he gave himself up to the same garbage he distributed and got careless...

Well, it was kinda scary and perhaps inapropiate example... but it illustrates.

I gues I'll never be able to understand why bad things always have to happen to good people.. I would say its unfair! like very unfair but then again lifes pretty unfair, right? so i'll never understand this, how it works.. but all i can do is keep doing good things so my karma points keep raising and someday i might just get rewarded for all the good i've done.. but of course thats not the reason why i do good things.. i do it because i wanna do it, cause if you do good things thinking to get a reward from it.. then theres not good karma there.. that would be like helping an old lady to get across the street just cause you know shes rich and she can give you a big reward ^^ its like cheating!

Life is never fair. There's a saying that gos "You have to go through hell to get to heaven" Right there they're talking about life itself is hell. You have to have some attitude or back bone to ya.
It is sad though how a lot of nice people are usually taken advantage of and hurt deeply. I preety much try to make friends with everyone and share my oponion when I disagree with something and people respect that. I try to be nice to the kids who might get picked on so they can have more self conffidence. Sometimes a lot of nice people just hold back and let other people run their lives and that's totally not right at all. Be you own person! ^^

This question is like a virtue, I think neither we can define it nor finding an absolute answer for it either. Everyone has his/her own destiny.

Being an atheist, I see it simply as the way things go. Or, you can look at it like the "bad people" are willing to go a step further to get success, of course often in immoral ways. The best one can do is hope that karma will come back and bite the person in the ass one day.
