Me again - two walls in a couple of weeks, must be some kinda miracle o_O
Anywho, saw this scan in the gallery (I see a lot of scans in the course of doing teh modding) and I really rather liked it, so I thought I'd have a pop at walling it :).
You should note two things. First, I haven't seen FMA and I don't therefore know whether this is an inappropriate symbol for the situation. Second, I don't care about that. What I do care about is whether or not the effect is too overpowering - Ie does it distract too much from the chara side of things?

I think the glowing symbol clashes quite badly with the sporty styled character. May I suggest you convert the symbol into graffitti-style? Dripping spray paint style? Maybe make it bigger and move it to the center, then the character placed in the center. I think that would suit the style of the scan better. There is also a nice symbol that Dioma used in her Lust wall here.
Yeah I would have to say that currently the symbol is to muchâ?¦.I am definitely drawn to it over the char. But that could change, it really depends on how you approach this wall. Personally I need a feel for the atmosphere before I can judge for sure. Like how is this piece going to be lit and so on.

That's what I was going for originally, but it looked kinda naff.

o.O; Hmm... if you go for grafitti styled text instead? And give up the symbol? There are lots of nice graffiti styled backgrounds at thespook at deviantart like this.

Well, I meant naff as in I don't have the skill to actually create something that looks any good, so creating my own text would prob be out too :/.
I'd rather stick with the symbol. And I'd much rather create something than use a graf font or use a stock, so I think I'll just have to find some more tuts and see if I can't make something that looks more grafitti style :[
Well i think if you stick with the symbol then you can put Ed infront of it. Then if you want put some grafitti text on the left side of the wall to balance it out.

I say make the symbol in the backround grafiti and that would be awsome goes render goes along with it very well
