Haha! it seems im gonna start a little hype on gate abilities here on AP! i loved Gatekeepers! haha! so cool, and the story is really enticing.. in line with a popular topic regarding "what would your zanpaktou be" in bleach, i would like to kick off something about having a gatekeeper yourself..

~i would like to have the gate of time, where i can slow or speed up time as i will. >:) i could also freeze time itself in order to save my fellow teamates.. to compensate with my ability, i just have to train any form of melee fighting.. no weapons whatsoever.. so when i slow time, im really fast.. and when i'm fast.. you're slow.. XD

Wow...superOld! I haven't touched GK for like since 2 years back.

anyway it was a good anime, loved the childish ness and the great way it is presented "back in the times when justice prevailed" sort of ideals.

My gate Abilities are simple: The Gate of Speed.
At the awakening of my gate, I can harness the power of speed, in which i can move so fast, time itself wil appear to have stopped for me.
But this is not the only ability, this power grants me the ability to do it on short time spans in which I do not gain any extra abilities beside the insane speed.
I am not any stronger, in fact just a human, I am only moving at such speeds you cannot be able to see me.

Clearing out 1000 or 2000 invaders is no problem as within that short time, everything around me has frozen, and I do not even need a special weapon beside one that is maybe a simple but great forged sword. This sword if swung at my Gate Speed is multiplied the force by the speed I go, which is technically impossible to calculate, which means, all I need to do is touch the targets, the force is multiplied by so many times, at that moment, one can only feel instant death.

The gate ability also grants me the power to heal faster in my state of speed, but only if I do not use it for battle. However, if I am moving like that, I will also suffer injuries, which will mean it is not the ultimate power, however, it is as good as it gets, it also means I am a melee unit. I cannot blast off all the targets with a sudden blow or anything like that.

Oahaha!, i like gate keepers a lot i have just bought the rirst volume and the DVD coust me like 3bucks no kidn i was very suprised couse well first ta ble i have never even heard of an anime like that so was very interested at first when i opened the paked i saw the dvd and you now it didn't lookall that impresiv to me but whene i watched it it became so much clearer to me and i just fell in love with it!,

no really i just love how the girl shouts the erows and best part id whene she takes them out from uder her skirt,rgr!, ehahehe im just kidn you but yeah i really like the boy and how he always thought that the girl was a wimp and she had the bugger running down her nose, well that was just SO FFunY!!,

i enjoyed it a lot and yes if i could i wouldve piked the fighting power, i don't really know why but i would just geuss that i am a "strong Tom Boy" kind of girl:P!!
i wouldve had so much fun with it i mean what if some ediot komes up to me and tris to hit on me i wouldve kick his a%% so to speak.

Yep, it's been 3 years since the last series and until now, i'm still looking for the manga. i wanna know what happened between the series and the OVA.

moving forward, i'd like to have kageyama's shadow gate and gate of foresight. it's so cool using your original gate and your minus gate at the same time...

I loved gate keepers... I didn't even know there was a manga out... Gate Keepers 21 was... hmm... interesting... Still makes me wonder if she's the daughter of that girl and guy from gate keepers... O_O

anyway, i would love a gate of incendiary. My hands would be enveloped in a purple flame and when i attacked an enemy, they would instantly be reduced to ash... >_< ooh and i can weild guns as well, meaning that i have flame bullets... also, incoming attacks, particularly long ranged ones can be stopped with a wall of fire.

Though, having a minus gate to use together would be cool... fire and ice... =D

I never knew what the hell the Gate of Foresight does? It seemed like an explosive white power blast that is all.

Haha i guess in the series and the OVA, it never showed anything about the gate foresight, but i guess it showed hints.. like how reiji could actually know what woudl happen, though he can be mistaken sometimes, and maybe, he can will his foresight to see the death of his enemies, so in the next few events, the enemies do die..

what i loved was the ending of the OVA.. which featured, at its best.. the gate of oblivion.. XD the funny thing is

the enemy in the end got so angry that her gate of oblivion turned into a minus gate.. so what's the opposite of anything you take away? you get it all back! -> the gate of restoration.. that was so funny in its own way.. XD

ayane isuzu is indeed the daughter of shun ukiya, but dropped her last name and adopted her mother's name, since shun also left ayane and her mom (talk about family problems).. but since it was isuzu, ayane's mother's maiden name, it defintely suggests that rurippe was not the woman shun had a baby for.. XD

and to add to the topic.. i would like to have a gate of technology, which could make me summon any weapon or device that came from teh future.. haha! hey, tehy said gates open and teh source are from other dimensions ryt? so its possible!:)

This gate is not possible cause the gates have the power to summon alternate world's energy such as elements of ice and so on, anything man made or from the future is a coexisting existence technology that is not applicable to the gate's powers.

And for the count, what does knowing your enemy is going to die do you any good?
That is what the gate was most confusing, if I say I know you are gonna die, lets say I do nothing or nothing to kill you, and or nothing was gonna hurt you, how do you die? How is your death relevant to my power to see you die?
Annoyingly, if it was explained this way:" I see you die this way, and hence the power allows me to control a critical chain of events that are in any means (always will be) never be altered within my control so that it is DEFINITE that what I do in the foresight and moments later will guarantee your death. Now that is something logical and fitting.

In laymen terms, it foretell a chain of events that won't change. Hence I can control this chain of events to guarantee death or destruction. Which is what I assume it means. But however, what the anime does was nothing like that.

As for one other gate, it would be good to have a gate for gravity. At the power of gravity, none can escape, to be able to control that, at max, in both ways, you can make your enemies float without control, or hold them to the grown with extreme gravity, also the ability to make yourself lighter and move easier while pinning down others. Now that is something useful.

Hey hey... you're forgetting something... with the gate of gravity, you'd be able to watch your enemies squish themselves into the ground... watch them drop to the ground and splatter onto the floor, spilling their guts everywhere... >=3

that is a part of the gate ability as well, which means the minus gate will have to be perhaps an added ability, nothing teh enemies shoot or attempt at you will have any effects, as they will simply be "de-gravitirized" all gravity controlled items like anything with even an amount of weight (including air) can be controlled.
That means, I can make a vaccuum of something where there is no air to breath, or water...practically speaking, I am god.

It can also mean the minus gate will be me losing control, causing all gravity to be centralized into me, instead of outside or external of me, which means, i will simply kill myself. Or attempt to put all gravity affected objects to myself, which includes the enemies, I guess that makes a great suicidal weapon.

LMAO... you know what this character reminds me of? Try watching black cat or reading the anime... there's this fat sumo dude who controls gravity...

Ooh... also, Mai HiME's manga had something like this... one of the characters weilds a gun and this gravity girl stops its bullet by increasing the gravity of the bullets, making it fall to the ground before it reaches her... So gun girl (Kuga Natsuki) instead fires her bullets into the air (guess what? bullets are affected by that same increased gravity) and they come down like artillery shells on the gravity girl... XD

I remember one of the gate powers from the Gatekeepers 21, I forgot the name but it was a gate that caused the wielders shadow to become a "weapon" so to speak. I would so love to have that power, or the other gate power from GK 21, the ability to materialize melee weapons. Pull out swords of all manners out of the ground and slice and dice, not to mention make mince meat. =D

I'd like that gate ability too. The gate of swords except mine would be guns. Its cool to summon different kinds of guns for different ranges and situations: pistols for short range, rifles for long range, machine guns for medium range and a lot of enemies, shot guns for tougher enemies. But the best would be a powerful beam rifle just like the buster rifle that could wipe out a lot of enemies in 1 hit. And maybe a gunblade for close combat.

Haha thanks omnidevil for that.. it would be insane to pull out a gundam from teh gate of technology.. O_O

and another thanks concerning the gate of foresight.. haha i guess it's have to stay mysterious..

one more gate for me would be the gate of water.. oops! that one was simple, yet was not included! haha! well, you know, i can make splashes to the enemy, drowning them, or even freezing them.. XD as for the minus gate of that, i dunno, any suggestions? haha!
