8-29-06 (1:15PM EDT)---- Death Note Anime Cast
Mamoru Miyano (Wolf's Rain) will take on the role of Light and Yamaguchi Kappei (Ranma 1/2) will take on the voice of L in the upcoming Death Note anime. Cast details were announced in Weekly Shonen Jump No. 40. The TV series begins airing at 24:56 on October 3rd via Nippon Television Network. More info is expected to come out through JUMP the REVOLUTION due out on 9/29.

I'm usually a stickler for anime versions to resemble their manga counterpart as much as possible, but I'd be totally for the anime changing what happens in volume 8. After that happened, the writing just tanked.

I`m very excited about this. Death Note is known as a great manga and I just never had the time to start on it but now that I know there is an anime about it, I wont either. The story seems so great and hopefuly the 26 episodes this anime will have, will be enough to finish it. It premieres on October 3rd, dont know who is going to sub it yet but someone definetly will. Very nice. I cant wait.

Like many others I very excitied about this show. Having read all of the manga so far, it will be interesting to see what gets left in and what gets left out from the manga. Though there's no offical release stating the epsiode count so far, the producers will probably milk Death Note for all the money they put into it. Also considering that Madhouse did a fantastic job adopting Monster, my expections for this show is quite high. I know I may have high expectations before it has aired, but trying to lower them it quite hard considering it has all the elements of a really great show.
I m also looking forward to watch this anime.
The main reason is that I like the artiste (Takeshi Obata).
Hope that the anime will follow the storyline of the manga as it is already ended.
(Don't want what happened to Bleach, Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist applied on this great story.)

Heh heh... 6 days 'till it comes out over there. And then a few more days for them to sub it, and i'm pretty sure that SOMEONE will put it up on youtube. haha. I think that this is one I can not afford to go without seeing. I wonder how it'll be...
