This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Hello,
My parents do not want that I talk with other people about Anime.
Normally people think: Anime = little children. I think that is wrong. Why can I not say that I like Animes and Japan? There are animes for every age. Hellsing OVA is (Germany) for people over 18.

I think the same as you.
There are a lot of people who think that animes are childish but i think it is only a question of like and dislike.
i tell people i9 like or know good enought that i like animes but so i dont want any problems with people who dont understand why animes are great thats why i dont talk loudly boud it

I watch anime and I love a wide variety of them too... there is no shame in saying you like anime. I have had some friends say that Anime = cartoons and thats childish but I don't agree at all cause some animes touch on some deep subjects and they teach a lot of good morals and themes which is good ^_^. Also they are all unique and most have great storylines... anime is like a TV series... something like Smallville or 24 or prison break... I don't see a difference... but i think that some animes have more themes and lessons to teach than some of the tv series...

anyway, Animes are cartoons for a more mature audience IMO. If only, I had more friends who shared the same view I do in anime. I can have hours and hours of discussion on animes. ^_^

If they mention it, yes I would gladly tell them, start a convo with them with something like "what kind of animes have you watched?" I'm not afraid of such things because the university I go to...well, there're lots of people there that watch anime anyways. Actually, theres an anime club and mangas in the library with a game room where you can watch animes

Ummm...yes. What is wrong with that? XD

I normally admit that I have seen Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in the Shell or similar animes with "not-for-children-content." Of course, even among anime fans, I will never admit that I have seen Pita Ten, for example...

Damn! XD

I don't care if people think that I like anime, of course I wouldn't talk about it a whole lot if nobody brings up the subject. I don't want to people to think that I am an otaku either, but if you ask I will honestly tell that I like anime, but I don't like to talk about it

Tell your parents to lighten up, to stop controlling you as much, and to stop being obsessed with other people judging you.

I don't really tell people that I like anime unless the subject is talked about for a longer period of time. I know a lot about certain animes and wouldn't want to be viewed as an anime freak. That is just my personal opinion on that matter.

Looking at your profile it says you are 24yrs old. You are no longer a kid, you should be able to do what you want.

If people inquire then I tell them, I watch anime. I don't see it as a big deal or big revelation or anything. Of course there are people that think it only for children, anime= animation= cartoons, which in the "western world" is only for kids. Show them a couple of your violent anime and it will open up their eyes a bit ^_-.

All I had to show my brother was how one episode of Azumanga Daioh was rated MA15+ restricted and show him why (apparently it was too perverted..) and it changed his perspective on anime forever LOL

The only person outside of my asian roommate or my last year's roommate (who watched anime before) who I spoke to about anime does not know about it. One of my friends know about it but doesnt watch it much, and he has another friend in common that does watch it.
Really depends... I rather avoid the "do you like anime?" >>> "no / I dont know what that is" >>> *slight pause* "oh" type coverstation starters.

Of course I do, why woudnt I? I dont care if people look down on me for liking anime. Anyways its not like I'm yelling out "I like anime" to everyone I know. Its pretty much a given that the majority of people I know are aware that I love anime so its really not that big of a deal. If its someone Im just getting to know then I would only tell them if the topic arises, not that I'm hiding it but to just start randomly talking about anime would seem a bit weird.
The bottom line is, for me, watching anime isnt a big deal, its just something I do in my spare time. Everyone has things that they like to do and watching anime is no different then any of those other things that people like to do.
