That's...more like a vector than a reCG isn't it?.....<<
I don't use a tablet, cause i'm not sure what a tablet does, but this kinda stuff you might wanna ask Kalico or something, although i'm sure she's pretty busy.
I vector with Illustrator, and sure it takes a long time but...hey, it's worth it probably.
looking ok so far though i can't tell you much at this stage.
good luck

The lines look pretty jagged, if you ask me. Fix that up and it'll look better. It's lookin' pretty good to me though!
Looks jagged even when you enlarged it? o.O
it looks fine to me but, i think it'll be better if you worked at a larger resolution then resized down in PS

Well wen I retrace the lines I still get Jaggies, anyway to get around this ?
And @ blu3angl I already started on a reso of 1280X1024 are you implying that I should start over ? Or streatch it out more on a reso of 1600X1200 and the redraw the jaggie parts and resize back to 1280X1024 ?

Here is an update with out the yexy effects and text. I need to get this right before I finish.

And yes I have a BG for Lucchi.
Id love to know of ways to get rid of the jagged lines.
EDIT: Got a BG in though It doesnt look that well anypointers on what I should use for the BG ? other than what is in the scan ?

You left white pixles all over the scan, get rid of those. The bg doesn't look so bad, but what work did you do on the scan?
Even if you worked at that resolution . increasing the size in Illustrator will not do anything to the quality. then when you export as a PSD to PS, it'll all be fine and better quality, when you resize there.
extraction needs work.
bg can't be a filtered screenshot
need something else.
may wanna add some more shadows/darker shadows to his face to add dimension\

Try to do something about the background. The render is good. I don't have much to say about this work.

Well what tips do you all for getting rid of the jaggies though ? Or should I start useing Illustrator full time ? Becuase we all know Line art never gets jagged.
Starting just with the vector (don't even add a bg yet at this point, the vector still needs work)
The basic shapes etc. are good, but it needs slight touching up - if you're gonna go for a vector, you might as well make it perfect. For example: look at the line where his hair meets his skin colour - the Outline-line and the actual black of the hair colour diverge a bit mid-face, and so you get slight pixellation as a bit of the skin colour shines through. There's tons of things like that in this vector that need fixing - the profile of his face, the fur, etc.
As for the background... i wouldn't do... what you did for it o_O; it just looks funny. And if you insit upon having that bg, do a proper removal of the white edges (though shouldn't it be as simple as making the "white" layer under all the vector layers transparent...)

Ok I have cleaned all that I can see and this is my near final version. I tried to go for a realistic bloody BG becuase of Luchhi's perosna but since its One Piece i cant exactly go realistic so I went a bit more cartoony I guess.

And shiningdays I appreciate your help but the fur is more or less supposed to look like that(becuase its OP) If you have some suggestions please let me know what I can do with it. And maybe if you can spot some more areas on where to clean becuase it is looking good to me right now. And really can you tell me how to get rid of the jagged lines becuase I tried everything that I can think of and it either barely helps or makes it worse.
And of course as it isnt done their is still text to be added and I have something else in mind for the black borders.

The blue background looks much better, looks like you really worked on the extraction on the second one, try to blend it in more to the background, it doesnt flow at all!
Also, try to stay away from thos black bars on top and bottom! :D

Takeing away the black bars kinda removes the badassness rom the wall imo. Plus it was made from a wide screen screencap. I guess I could make it a wide screen wallpaper and I will work on the blending.
