Well, my previous attempt for a wallpaper was a total failure judging by the very small amount of feedback. So, here I am with a totally new idea from an entirely different series. While I am not a buff on Naruto, I did very much find myself as a big fan of Sasuke. I just LOVE the way his eyes are in the series! So, I got the idea to make a contrasting wallpaper to focus on his eyes and found a very fiercome looking scan...so I gave it a shot. I also found a picture of Itachi that seemed to just kinda fit in, but I'm still not sure weither or not it should stay in the final product.

I'm pretty much stuck where I'm at right now. It makes things really difficult to move on when you get a mind block like this. So ,basically any input on the wallpaper would be ever so helpful. I really want to put together another submittable quality wallpaper, so your time would be much appreciated!

Hhhhmmm...not bad...how about adding a text ot texture...well...good luck on that wall!

Is it a scan or vector? sasuke looks pretty high quality anyway, the background lacks a bit of colour, I don't really like it being grey, have you tried full colour, but on itachi, dont fully grey it out, make it less contrast, so the focus is on sasuke.

Ok. I went bak to the drawing board on this one and I decided to try my original idea again. I made the new verson here a group picture in the eyes of Kakashi-sensei and Itachi. It focuses on Sasuke still, but has a little extra emphasis into the trio in the center there. Tell me what you think of the new version!

hmm...in this version, the flow is there, the focus is there...but there's such a barrage of colors that it's almost confusing. I liked it in your first version, where only Sasuke was in color...maybe, with this new concept, you could add texture AND bring the focus back to Sasuke if you were to, say, do some sort of radial blur emanating from Sasuke and then playing with that. Because the feeling I'm getting is that you want Sasuke to be the focal point of your wallpaper, not the entire team. Hope that helps. =P

Well, what exactly do you mean by the radial blur thing. I've played around with it before, but with the complexity of the million layers I've got going there, it might be a feat all in it's own. Any suggestions for that one?

Yeah, that's true...mostly going off what I've seen from similar wallpapers. XD What I was thinking was, perhaps...haha I haven't actually tried to see if this works, or not, I'm just rambling. You use Photoshop, right? It should be pretty similar, regardless of what you use. Maybe making a copy of the entire wall as you have it (in PS, it'd be 'Apply Image' not sure about Gimp or anything else), and then just putting a radial blur on it...then putting it on top of everything, and erasing the middle part. And then you can try different blending modes...I'm thinking maybe overlaying it ALOT, to get alot of contrast...maybe linear light or some other one (again, those are names of photoshop blending modes). Of course, Naruto and Sakura would be totally lost...but...eh yeah. And then maybe taking Kakashi and Itachi and putting a more transparent copy of them on top.

Well, the help is very much appreciated, but it doesn't seem to be helping too much with this wallpaper. I see what's being said as for the radial blur, but I've tried different variations of that along with different zoom blurs and motion blurs, too. None of them really did anything but ruin the overall product. It also changed the focus of the wallpaper to Sasuke too dramatically. I want him to be the focal center of the wallpaper, but I think that draws too much attention to him and makes the rest of the wallpaper look like a barrage of nothing.

So, I've been trying to get some help from friends, but they're not doing a whole lot for me. I tried going to my art professor, but he wanted me to let him alter it. That's not the point of doing my own work. That leaves me here, once again, looking for more advice. I'm really hurting for input. I want to get a new wallpaper into the galleries. My last one was 7 whole months ago! ((and it really wasn't that great looking at it later...))

If it helps at all, I use Macromedia Fireworks. It's a little bit like Photoshop, but designed for the purpose of web graphics. I can use photoshop plugins and stuff like that and the tools are pretty much the same, it's just A LOT cheaper and it's all I've got.
