This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

A thing I've learned in disciplines class this year: "beware of time saving devices, because they will only cost you more time" Things are meant to break down and become more of a nuisance than a help. Thats how companies continue to make money, not to mention its impossible to create a product that is infallible. But anyways, all these time saving devices that we come up with to use end up wasting more of our time, not only to repair and maintain the devices, but also in the reallocation of time to other activities and jobs, etc to afford the devices and to use up the "freed" time. Loosely put, nobody spends any time just settling down and enjoying nature or silence, we're all too busy for our own good.

Yea it will make you maore lazy..like paying the bills on the internet instead of walking to the post office...pressing the remote control instead of going to the tv and press the button.

but you know what? because of technology we have time to have fun and we have AP!!

so i think technology has their good and evil..

I would have to disagree with CaptivAte, though. The thing with technology is, if you get the lastest and greatest, it tends to break down sooner because the manufacturers/designers haven't tested the product enough. They'll get more data as time goes by, making the product more reliable (ideally). People shouldn't rely on technology so much. It's there to assist us. Take a calculator for example. If it wasn't for these things, we'd have a rather large book of trig functions with every degree to the thousandths place. But people using it for simple calculations (ie: 22x2), its a waste of time. People are getting lazy because of these conviences, generally speaking, but with technology you can do things more quickly and efficiently, if you know how to use that technology correctly.
You know, after writing this, I'm think I've contradicted myself and agreed with CaptivAte.

In a sense I agree with the fact that technology has made us lazy, but not only that. It has made us more impatient thanever and un motivated to perform tasks which require manual and physical effort and thus has toned down our motivation to do activities outdoors.

Lol we talked about this in a lecture at university this week, and that laziness is the key to new technologies. An example that the prof came up in class was an egg beater that eventually evolved over time into a mechanical one that does it all for you. So definitely, yes, our laziness is what drives us to make new technologies, but not all technologies are created this way.

It would be very tiring to not have technology in today's world. Stuff like travelling would be a major pain and different countries cultures wouldn't have been able to make it overseas. America wouldn't have known about anime then p(ToT)q emoticon

Some technologies make us lazy but improve overall life at the same time. We may be lazy to walk to a store to buy stuff and walk back, but with cars you can get to here and there much faster, saving you lots of time, and with the time saved you can do other stuff. I guess it's just the way the world is made.

Haha totally! I remember the days when I use to turn the dial to lower the volume on my tv, go to the library to research information for school projects and go to the bank to pay for things. Now? Everything is done online. I even do my shopping online even for things that I could even buy at a department stores.

Technology these days have made my life so much easier and yet its now harder to keep in shape. I need to go to the gym just to do that. I remember when before all this i didn't even need to go, *sigh* I even went bike riding in those days. Ah well now theres cars.
All in all, they've made my life so much lazier. But I can see that and now i'm trying to act on in it.

@Bumblebee: Heh, a lot of people disagree with me anyways. What you're saying is not too far off from what I believe. We get lazier and then fill that time with busy things instead of productive things. The advent of technology makes us lazier, that is true, but it doesn't save us time by any means.

Doctors can help their petients,, with technology,,

I think that nowadays technology does have the tendency to make us lazy even though it is not the main purpose of it. I mean, technology is meant to make our lives more simple, by being able to do things with just a push of a button. And exactly because of that, we end up with more free time to do other things, such as physical activities, studies or even take a nap. What to do with the time is what really matters.
There is also the fact that because we are able to do things with just a finger, we don't have incentives to exercite our body other than for mere aesthetics. For example, without internet one would need to go to a mail office or the bank to pay the bills (at least here in my country is like that). But with the internet, that same person can just schedule his account to separate and automatically pay the bill, thus saving energy and not exercising as he would if he had to go all the way just to pay one bill.
Concluding, technology does make us lazier than we used to be in the past, however we do benefit from a lot of things from it.
(By the way, although it does look like I'm defending technology, I'd rather we went back to middle ages, with few technology, but when we needed to do a lot of things by ourselves, without the need of a more complicated machine to do something.)

I think the anwer is yes~
now mostly all things is either remote controlled or either automatic.
there's no need for man power. except to make the item...
but nowaday people is so busy with their wok until their time is very precious... the technology is to speed up things...

Technology makes us lazy thats a fact. Todays standards calls for more average person's friendly equipment so, instead of just making various easy to use models they make the hole line of equipment lazy friendly. (^t^) emoticon

In the process they are making a bunch of mechanical and software related errors and that causes that makes then create a new gizmo every moth an every lazy person will buy it because it will be easier to use, the more stupid the most productive will be and therefore more sales.( []-[])9 emoticon

As for us, we are the lazy ones that spent our money to buy then.#(u_u)# emoticon
