Final Fantasy Series
All of Final Fantasy series are great. Their games are always great. I like it....a lot..^_^
But I don't know which one is the best. Some says Final Fantasy 7. While some says Final Fantasy 10.
I don't quite get it why is FF 7 was the best game ya' know. Their graphics aren't that great and their gameplay are quite confusing(not as bad as FF 8 with the junction system XD). I think the best series to me would be 9 cos you don't have to worry about those materia and junction. Their storylines are also great to me.
Well FF10 also quite great except they don't have the ATB. Those taking turns to attack wasn't so cool.

I usually have seperate rankings for them but overall I like X the best.
Graphic-wise, 10 was beautiful.
Story-wise, 7 hands down.
Ending-wise, 9 had me standing on my feet.
Music-wise, 8 had the best imo.

I think the FFVII Storyline is great, but I favor X and X-2.
I think most say VII is the best because it brought the FF series, as well as RPG's in general, to a whole new level. You could call it the father of modern RPG's. Yes, in retrospect, it's not the best looking game out there, and it has its faults, but at the time, it was a good as they got (general opinion).
I think a lot of people who say X is the best do so because of the graphic superiority (PS2 > PSX), and the fact that it has spoken dialogue, which adds much more to the feeling of the game and in some cases, your emotional attachment to it (I don't know if anyone out there is considering XII to be "the best" yet).
Now, that said, I'll take a cue from how ArakawaTakeshi put it:
Graphics: Gorgeous graphics, stunning visuals, I give this one to FF X.
Story: Need I say it? FF VII
Music: Beating out Vi by a hair, FF VII.
Overall: VII
Honorable Mention: VI - SUPERB FF

I am gonna vote for FFVII, the storyline was just so great. It pretty much set the stage for the rest of the FF series.
I think games hold a larger place in your heart depending on the time you play them.
I only played 7.8.9 but from the 3 i would say i had a better time playing 9, It was of course many years ago but i played it in the winter with a nice cup of tea where as 7 was played years before on hot summer days. i know i sound like a nut but i think i enjoyed 9 more because of the time in my life i played it, it was also a gift from my dad which gave it more value.

Yeah I think FF7 was the greatest. It had the best storyline ever, and they even made more games relating to that saga. But then again, the compilation of Final Fantasy VII kinda ruined the whole thing. I mean gosh, the story is over, get over it and make an FF8 movie!
I liked every Final Fantasy but I think FFVII was absolutely the greatest game ever made. Sephiroth was the coolest villian ever (my name is on Sephiroth for goodness sakes...). Even without him though, FFVII totally blew me away with it's incredibly deep storyline. I have never played a game with such a wonderful story and the music was awesome. The boss battle theme really pumped me up and One Winged Angel fit Sephiroth really well. Though I can't say the graphics are good compared to today's standards, they were quite good when it first came out.
Man I really wish I still had my original copy of FFVII for PS. I don't know where it went...and I want to buy a new copy but it's so expensive! I don't want to the greatest hits version and so the original is even more expensive. It's like in the hundreds now! I have the PC version but I guess I just want an original copy of the PS version as a collectible since it was such an awesome game :)

Why bother with making one of the games better than the others? They all have qualities none of the others have so why bother?
Aeris from FFVII, the love triangle with her, Tifa and Cloud or the growing love between Squall & Rinoa? They both are equally good. Can´t say this or that is better than the other.
I find it funny to think people must place a number in front of a game title, otherwise they can´t play it or like it. You play what is fun for you, end of story.

I guess its just how they refer to the game, that way, they've created favorites within all the series
yeah, somehow, given it is Final Fantasy series, you will still find notable differences that separates them from one another-- be it as storyline, weapons, summons or battle systems, character timeline or setting, or even soundtracks and theme songs, all installment has a combination well mixed that is worth the title of Final Fantasy
to be bias, i am picking VII, IX, X and the up and coming Versus Xi to be my chosen favorites-- these FF titles gave me lots of trouble and fun going through their side story, main story, bosses and hiddens but in the end left a good well spent time of playing

I think FF7 and FF10 are both the best! I just can't say that one is better than the other. I like them both the same.
FF7 has a great storyline and the gameplay is really fun. I love to play with the materia and combine it to get many effects. The graphics aren't the best, but I don;t care since the gameplay, story and characters are good enough not to bore me. XD
FFX has as well nice story, interesting story...I like that the aeons have many abilities which is different from the games before FFX. The graphics are really nice, it's a real improvement comparing to the preceding games. The gameplay it's the best in my opinion. I like the sphere grid system because you have many possibilities, so many abilities that your characters can learn. The characters are interesting too, though I don;t really like them all...
PS: I forgot to mention, the OST of FFX is great too!!

I totally enjoyed playing FF VI. It has great storyline. So many characters, and normal battle system. But since the graphic is still 2D, you can't really compare with other game graphics nowadays.

I played only from 7 to X-2.
FFX-2 was kinda disappointing... There was one thing I liked about it though, the dresphere system, it was nice...but other than this it was inferior to FFX...that's my opinion...and I'm sure there are others too who were disappointed about FFX-2...
