Mai Hime vs. Otome
I think Mai Hime was definitely better. The fights actually ENDED as opposed to being interrupted by explosions, etc, the characters were better, and watching Shizuru go nuts was fun. I also wasn't a huge fan of the certification thing in Otome, they should've just gone out and fought.

Yeah, I liked Mai Hime more than Mai Otome. To me the story and the characters were much better. Especially, the emotional conflicts that the main character Mai goes through. Mai Otome just didn't appeal to me as much as Mai Hime. Well that and the characters from Mai Otome seem to appeal to the Loli-complex crowd LOL, which is not my thing personally.
I haven't watched Mai Otome yet but I heard rumors that Mai Hime was better. I no longer had interest in the second season after watching the first. Mai Hime wasn't entirely good but I guess it can be nice to watch sometimes.
If I had a low opinion of Mai Hime and after hearing the second season was worse, why would I even watch it?

Mai Otome is not really the second season of Mai Hime since the story is completely different, but the characters from Mai Hime are visually there although their characters are different. It's almost a completely different anime.
Yeah, I regard Mai HiME & Mai Otome as two different animes because they are set in an "alternate universe" sorta thing. I think i like Mai Otome better for some reason. I'm not really sure why but I think I had a bigger "connection" with Mai Otome than with Mai HiME.
I think both where great though and I recommend it to everyone! But I think you should watch Mai HiME first then Mai Otome.

Mai hime was much better fo' sho
Doesn't mean that mai otome wasn't good either though, I mucho enjoyed it.
The child summoning and the stuff that happened when a child was defeated was just a much better idea then having maids transform into battle customes.
They screwed up with Otome near the end though. First they spend loads of episodes about arika not doing much aside from getting all confused and depressed and then at the last 2 episodes they introduce loads of new otome's. Which all join the fight on the good guys side but just left me wondering "who the hell are you? and you?". They could have at least give them some sort of introduction in earlier episodes instead of spending it on little poor antsy.
Nevertheless I enjoyed watching Otome, and the OVA's (otome zwei) seem like they are going to be pretty good as well (only the first part has been released so far)

I haven't watch mai otome yet, but I've read the review. I think I won't watch it, I don't like the new characters and their uniform. so I like mai hime better

Mai HiME was awesome, mai otome was a let down for me. i thought i could expect a season two but yeah. it came out that its mai otome and the design was really weird. i do not really like it somehow.
For story wise, Mai Otome had some very confusing parts, not being expalin properly. I dislike both the ending, a little to simple i guess. Everyone coming back to life, tada its the end ? Mai HiME, its very rushy at some parts as well for that, deserve a season two ...

I liked Mai Hime better. The Mai Hime story was much better quality than Mai Otome.
Of corse my hime was way better then my otome.

Mai Hime was definitely better. Having to use the gems and everything seemed pretty pointless to me.

MAI HIME two thumbs up. mai hime was "easier to watch" I preferred watching mai hime.
Well, I liked the most of Mai-HiME, but the ending really dropped the ball. On the opposite side, I liked the ending of Mai-Otome, but there were bits and pieces during the beginning and later half that really turned me off. So I would give my vote to Mai-HiME.
Although, I give a big thumbs up to the Mai-Otome manga, it's a completely different story then the anime version. If you can, give that a read.
