This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

This thread is probably better suited in the Animepaper main Forum instead of the Bleach sub.

People have a tendency to pick up certain words, lines, or phrases that are commonly used in a series, even if you're not trying to learn japanese.

I strictly watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya subbed so I've picked up on a few words here and there, although that alone wouldn't suffice if I ever took a trip to Japan. At best I could say 'Hello', 'Goodbye', 'No', 'I'm sorry (Gomenasai (sp?)), 'Yes', and a few others.

The rest I watch dubbed so I won't exactly progress as much in my Japanese like others do.

Hai! i do but only standard words and sayings ive picked up, there fun to use in convos... but ive noticed characters sometime have accents so the words they are trying to say sound different! p(T_T)q emoticon confuseing

then theres differences like;

sorry (mistake)= gomenasai (some say gome)
sorry (excuse me) = Sumimasen

ja ne =P

I think we all pick up the language as we watch shows or animes that is in a language different than our mother tongue. It is only natural after hearing the same phrase and tone over and over. Although I picked up a lot of japanese by watching animes, I must admit that I still cannot construct a decent (and long) sentence flawlessly.

It's still fun and interesting to learn anyway. Have you ever heard someone saying "Itadakimasu" before eating and "Gochisousamadeshta" after a meal? Very likely that person has either learnt japanese or watched too much animes. (XD) emoticon

I do try to learn japanese from watching anime episodes, but it doesn't always work because different subbers have different words.

It's kinda hard to pick out more than short phrases from subbed anime since they talk pretty fast, and you also tune out the words sometimes while reading the subtitles.

The truth is I don't try to learn Japanese while watching the show 9(>_>) emoticon BUT when I watch any anime show with the subtitles I eventually pick up some useful (and some rather vulgar(._.); emoticon), common phrases.
Although way, way back, when I first started to watched anime with subtitles, I started to browse through the net looking for online Japanese dictionary for me to learn. Now, I at least was able to know how to introduce oneself in Japanese (Just the basics ones).
But you'll continue to learn more Japanese words and numbers when you continue to watch anime shows with English subtitle, like Fedic-saa said.

Some more examples I picked up during watching anime shows(XD) emoticon:
Dadaima! (I'm home.)
Ohayou! (Good Morning)
Boku wa dai juusan bunkatsu kara aru. (I'm from the 13th division.) .(n_n). emoticon

I learn words like Ohayou-gozaimasu, Hajimashite, Dou itamasite and other words.

I have learned some expressions.
And some general and common words.
Its a little hard but i like it because you can get used to hear japanese and its funny try to imitate them. I have found useful the vocabulary from Anime.
