>xDD i dont think we're vain.. although some girls can be. out of what you said..
-i shower for almost 1 hour=ya i do that to..but for guys, they have short hair, with girls who have long hair, like me, it takes longer. plus theres products and all that crap.
-when i see a mirror i will quickly look at it..and not far from the first mirror there is another mirror and i will look at it again=hehe.. i do that to xD
-skip dinner, 20 sit up every day and always want to maintain my weight=im too lazy to do that.. >xDD
i mean, most girls cant help but to obsess about their appearance, it almost feels like its expected of us to look nice xD but then there are people who take it to different levels. Im leaning on blaming the media ^^'' but really, what hasn't the media done to effect our thoughts and opinions on beauty?

I do those things too :), well not on the dinner part, but i do try to avoid all consumptions of carbs above 4pm. Been trying to get rid of those fatty food stuffs XD..
NO. Those are not vain. Those are beautification.
Vain is when:
- You sleep only 3 hours or not at all after watching soccer till morning.
- You spent hours fixing things when you know a repairman can do those faster and cheaper.
- You bought lots of tools that you don't even know how to use and RARELY use.
If you have a brother, you'll know.

Some girls are vain, and some guys are vain. I don't think that either gender is more vain than the other, I just think that girls are protrayed that way more often than guys.
I like keeping things cleaned, organized, and well-thought out. I don't like girls who put on tons of make up everyday, stuff like mascara and stuff, I just don't like them. Keep it simple. I know some guys worry about their appearance too much, and I know some who don't care enuf. Like some people that I board the skytrain doesn't even look like they shower at all. Someone in one of my classes said that his dorm stinks because he doesn't so his laundry coze he doesn't know how. So you gotta keep yourself clean to an extent, but to the extent of making yourself look excessively beautiful I think is going too far.

what do you mean by that?? it sound so funny!!
and my water bill...i never notice about that coz my parents the one who pay for it and im a real spoiledbrat in my family!!
and the question is..why are men do not feel like us women..i mean we are very beauty conscious but not men..WHY?

I beg to differ. Men DO care a lot about how they look, but don't spend so much time on it, because we don't need to. The thing with men is that to look good, we don't need to spend so much time on it. If you haven't noticed, we don't use make-up. Also, applying lotions and such doesn't take much time at all. Take my morning routine for example:
1. Shower, shampoo, conditioning, soap = 10-15 minutes.
2. Brush teeth, shave, Dior = 10 minutes.
3. Find something clean to put on = 3-5 minutes.
I don't worry about what I wear, because I carefully buy clothes that combine. I have a lot of jeans, t-shirts, and jackets, and they all combine, so I don't have to worry. I'm very self-conscious about my looks, but I don't worry that much, it's the inner self that counts anyway, though that doesn't mean I neglect my exterior. I find your statement of men not taking care of their looks very offensive, and I want you to take it back

Lol
That's normal for women. But, you shower for almost an hour!?
Of course men care about the way they look. Do not generalize. ^^

ShioraAnd the question is..why are men do not feel like us women..i mean we are very beauty conscious but not men..WHY?
Because men are too busy being mesmerized and admiring the majestic, stunning, elegant and magnificent female beauty. :)
But i agree with DZeroX(A bit. Not about taking the offense part though.. >_>). Nowdays, it's a fact. Men have become quite conscious about their looks and figure and stuff. But they don't need to spend as much time as women do. Thats all. Also, men tend to act as if they're apathetic and don't really care about their looks and stuff especially around girls, lol.

Lol I sayd California Raisin cuz your skin prunes up if you soak too long, ya kno?
...
In the defense of the humanity, it's not some gender-preference thing like it used to be. Women fight in wars, men are nurses, metrosexuals exist, and, in most cases, male pro wrestlers wear more than their female counterparts despite their weight...As a bboy every part of my body touches the floor regardless of if it's at my home or a battle, but as a former restaurant waiter of 4 years I believe personal hygiene and image is important, to the point to where I cut my own hair, stylize my own clothes, do my own laundry...I even forced myself to quit biting my nails lmao but it was never for vanity...it's just cuz I can't see myself not keeping a clean image of myself.
...
Long showers sure are great, though...

@~shiora
I wouldn't say your vain; you just care about your looks. To be vain means to think you look better than others.
Anyway, back to your question. I understand why you would think that. Generally speaking, most men don't care about their looks as much as most women do. Not that guys don't care, it's just that they don't care about it as much. Of course there are exceptions for both men and women.
As for me, I tend to care a great deal for my hygiene and especially for my hair (and I am a guy). My hair is longer than most men so naturally, I care for it a lot (using the right shampoo, conditioner etc.). And like you ~shiora, I too take long showers (about 45min - 1hr). But mainly because I like being under hot water. It relieves all the stress for that day.
As for your other comments:
I look at a mirror I come across once in a while.
I eat when I am hungry but exercise regularly.
I rarely use a lotion.
And I almost never ask others about my looks.
She is speaking generally. And you might be an exception but in most cases men don't care about their looks as much as women do. That much is a fact. Not to mention, she never said men don't care about their looks nor did she imply it. Read things more carefully next time.

kouryuxxfighterShe is speaking generally.
That's why I'm ticked off.
kouryuxxfighter... nor did she imply it.
By following all the premises about her boyfriend and her friends' boyfriends provided in the first post, you can logically conclude that she is indeed stating that men do not take care of their looks. Now excuse me, but that was my train of thought. If she's giving facts, I'm going to assume and base my post on the general idea she's trying to put at hand, which is the one I gave you above. Now you can feel free to agree or disagree, that's what arguments and opinions are all about, but if all you can say is "read better next time", I suggest you zip that little mouth of yours, because I'm posting based on her choice of words, syntax, and content. By the way, don't even think for a second I'm trying to pick a beef with you, that's the last thing on my mind. To go even further, I even apologize to you if you feel offended by this post. It's not my intention to undermine you, but that's just how I see things, and as you already know, you can't change the way other people view things. That aside, I stick to my post. And by now, I hoped that people knew already that my requesting of an apology was simply a smart-ass joke, but obviously, I think I put too much seriousness into my post for that to be taken as one.
