New day, new wallpaper from me. And a Haruhi Suzumiya one, to make myself clear. I loved this show sice the first episode (which I quite enjoyed, am I creepy?) and I wanted to do something as soon as possible. The day before yesterday, upon completing my NGE wall, I found a great chibi pic of Haruhi. I got an idea right away: vectorize it and make a wall that is a compilation of different pics of her. I did the first part, but then I lost my motivation. Yesterday, when I came home drunk, I though of a Kyon wallpaper, but I don't remember the details very good ;d The only thing I did before falling asleep was taking a screencap from episode 2 and making 4 layers of colours to the vector. Today, when I woke up I got the greatest idea of the day - to compile those two 'projects'. Well, basically it is Kyon getting a headache because of Haruhi. The title is of course the tagline from the anime.

I used only raw photoshop tools with both of the vectors I made + that screencap. Filters? Many radial blurs. And a distort for the text. Finally I made a 'border' made of the Haruhi ISM logos and blended it with everything.

I'm happy with it, but something seems off. I'm not sure, though. What would you add, or suggest to change? Post your comments, please.

Interesting wall :) i like the idea. the vector of the guy is nice. the chibi images are way too blurry though, make those abit more crisp.

i'm not sure i like that pinched effect you have on there, seems odd. also, the bg is going to need to be more interesting than what you have. too repetative.

it's a great start, just needs something more... ;)

I like the sweet size number of the pic. other than that ql vectoring. i wonder if the blur of those chibis accompany well with the less blured background - makes kind of 'reversed perspective feeling' :P.

Good vector
the distorted font is just a bit hard to read, and as others have mentioned, the chibis are too blurry and the bg is repetitive
there's a bit of the hair in the fromt there in between his fingers that you forgot to color.
have maybe the chibis say something annoying, or have them do stupid things.
as he looks very annoyed, maybe you can find a good screenshot and then vector that and use it as the bg

- The font is meant to be hard to read, as an effect of Kyon's migraine.
- Thanks for mentioning the gap in the hair, I'll get to the shape of the vector mask in a minute.
- Hmm... the BG... Yup, my idea was to make it annoying by repeating it all over, but maybe it is a better idea to change it to something else. I'll think of it.
- I'll look for other chibis, though I think it'll be kinda hard... Well, we'll see about that

I think you can use one chibi and draw some dishes your self and make her break them/drop them by accident in the bg...that might be annoying...

I made a chibi version of Haruhi based on one of the pictures found on the net and remade the bg a little. How is it now? Better or worse?

Lol, that's awesome ;) i totally think the first version is the best. i really like the style of the chibi's, neat lines. the text looks a whole lot better and i like that we can see more of the bg. i actually wish we could see more of it though, maybe have alittle less of that motion blur or whatever it is.
