Naked Snake from Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater

My favourite character is also Snake.
Morene from Kingdom Under Fire:the crusaders

From recent memory, Ratchet from the Ratchet & Clank series. Of all time, I'd have to think about it.
Sonic and Amy.
Sonic, not just for the games, but for the idea behind him aswell. Sega always had that kind of "bad boy" attitude. They wasnt afraid to do something new with their consoles and they had to make something to point that out. Sonic was born. They showed that the Master system was more powerfull because you had sonic run all over the place at a very high speed.
Their urge to use new technology way of head of their time also cost them the company and Sega isnt as good as they used to be.
I'm actually thinking about getting a tattoo with them :)

Oh, that's a really hard choice considering there's so many lovable characters out there *thinks hard*
Okay, it'll have to be Sabin from Final Fantasy 6 because:
- he's a life saver: pretty much saves my party members life half the time because of his high HP
- he's so strong: he can beat the monsters by himself and still heal his party members
- he has some wicked moves: he knows martial arts and magic!
- he's also the comical one: laid back and funny, he's a comedial!

I think you mean the Genesis. I don't think there was a Sonic game for the SMS, unless you count the Game Gear iterations, since it's essentially the same hardware.
Also note that Sega always used parts that were available to the consumer; Zilog Z80 CPU for the SMS, Motorola 68k series CPU for the Genesis, and Hitachi CPU's for the Saturn and Dreamcast.
They were bleeding edge on the arcade hardware front (Model 2 anyone? Used a Lockheed Martin chipset for graphics), however that's not a good example, as all the money they were making when the Dreamcast died was coming from their arcade operations.
T'is a shame they fall through the plug hole..
..anyways, from current, I'd have to say that Albel Nox, from Star Ocean: Till the End of Time is my current fave.
He has a pretty cold outlook on things, which is probably what makes him seem so cool.

My favourite character ever is either Naked Snake because of his incredible level of badassery or Dante for his incredible ass-kickery. Both are incredibly recent but as I get older I find it hard to remember characters of yore.
Of the lot of games I've played Sora from Kingdom Hearts was my favorite
