Email Wars 2 GB's and counting
I just found out about this<!--QuoteBegin--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Yahoo will increase the inbox capacity of its free web mail service for the third time in the past nine months, now raising storage to 1GB exceeding Microsoft's Hotmail and matching Google's Gmail. <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--><a href='http://news.zdnet.co.uk/0%2C39020330%2C39192436%2C00.htm' target='_blank'>http://news.zdnet.co.uk/0%2C39020330%2C39192436%2C00.htm</a><a href='http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/index.cfm?go=news.view&news=4641' target='_blank'>http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/index.cfm?go=news.view&news=4641</a><a href='http://www.siliconindia.com/shownewsdata.asp?newsno=27437&newscat=Technology' target='_blank'>http://www.siliconindia.com/shownewsdata.a...scat=Technology</a>I wonder what Microsoft will do now.
I think Microsoft will too follow up in increasing their storage as well. In the end, we benefit the most from it.
I am using both e-mail account.yahoo and gmail...<!--emo&:)--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->so,i guess that Microsoft will do something about it like increasing their storage, just like lclun mentioned...or do some improvements.the compatition will just benefit us, the users...hope we'll get something good because of that...lol

I think that microsoft will follow suit, or else it'll be 'behind everyone else in the market'. maybe it'll raise it higher (5GB?) and try to pwn yahoo, just like what IE did to netscape.
Yahoo at 1GB? And to think I was already satisfied with 250MB...Microsoft will stay behind, as usual. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the free version of hotmail has still 2MB of capacity, right? If they further enhance their paid version, it won't really matter, IMO.

There are already a lot of free email services out there with up to 3GB of storage,it's getting ridiculous actually.now unless you have the patience to upload mp3's and movies into your mailbox there's no way you'd be able to use all that storage.

I still don´t see the use of 1gb mail storage... Not that you will be uploading loads of mp3s or simply you have lot of inbox message really..Just seems to be a waste of space in my opinion... are you actually going to fill 1gb of junk? images on a zip? Yeah it might be actually good, but usually I tend to delete those stuff after I sent it to other people..

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I guess that I should have said that I won´t have the need or wouldn´t want to do it. I still see no reason to just upload mp3 or the like, would prefer an FTP or an host for those kinda things but maybe that´s just me <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='rolleyes.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Talk about large storage there are actually people who use it to store mp3....one of my friend does it....not me...she use that to store all her stuff....as her pc is always getting virus....pity her

What I think is, the email providers are enlarging the e-mail capacity due to spams. After the spam-war has been won, I think they'll reduce the capacity. Just my opinion <!--emo&:D--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
It's all business. But whenever it's business competition, it's a huge benefit to all the free subscribers. I can't wait till 1GB! Thank God I supported Yahoo! all the way since I got my first Yahoo!Mail account XD I always thought hotmail stinked. Go Yahoo!

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->which is a good idea actually, if you're paranoid about backing up your files, but still, uploading it all would be a drag,<!--QuoteBegin-Mangafan@_@+Mar 25 2005, 04:48 AM--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Mangafan@_@ @ Mar 25 2005, 04:48 AM)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->What I think is, the email providers are enlarging the e-mail capacity due to spams.
