This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

This topic simply is asking what do your parents, siblings, and other relatives you have think of anime. My parents think it's too childish and weird. I have these two little cousins of mine that like to read Shonen Jump, so i guess you could say they like it.

My dad likes the mecha aspect, my sis likes the stupid humour aspect, my bro likes the cool aspect (or only waht he thinks is cool), my mom hates the perverted aspect
my little cousin is just crazy, he can't dl anything so he watches the crappier dubbed version and sings the translated songs- it would get annoying...
everyone probably likes it- just at different levels

Well one day I practically forced my parents to watch some of my anime and my dad seemed real into and would keep asking me "were's the next dvd?" and saying "It cant end like this, go get the rest of it!" So my dad took a real liking to it. And my brother he's always like anime but the rest of my family still calls it a childish cartoon -_-

My parents don't really understand it they think that they are cheap for not animating the face and lips and stuff like Disney does but I think that even if someonf the animation lacks some the story is 10 times better than Disney could come up with! But there the only ones in my family that thinks that cause my siblings are all into Anime, well except one and he was into it but got married and his wife doesn't get it either! ~_~
WHY CAN"T PEOPLE SEE WHAT WE SEE!!

My mom called "Spirited Away" evil b/c Haku used a spell to unbind Chihiro's legs. Oh, and this is the same woman who's read all five of the Harry Potter books and thinks they're good. -.-

So yeah, you can pretty much tell how my family feels. My dad could care less about anime, my mom thinks it's stupid and a waste of money, and my siblings think it's immature. I am all alone in my animeness. *sadness*

All my cousins, who are my age, like anime. I would say I am the biggest fan out of the whole family. My grandma doesn't watch anime, but she doesn't care if I watch it or not. She knows I like it. She bought me Spirited Away while she was in China. x3; Very grateful for her. My father thinks anime are childish cartoons, though I don't spend too much time with him. My sister likes anime.. I started getting her into it at an early age. She's currently 7 years old and enjoying Love Hina. xD;; Maybe I influence her a little too much. My mom is indifferent. She knows I'm a huge fan. She doesn't watch any anime with me, but I think she laughed at a Rurouni Kenshin moment before while she happened to be in the same room. She always asks me questions like "Why do girls in anime have such big boobs?" and "Why is Inuyasha so ugly?!" She's such a laugh. xDDD

My parents think it's only for kids :(
One time they see few seconds of Azumanga Daioh, my mother told me it was very very kiddy ... but I don't think so.

Except my parents, most of my friends only knows Naruto, it's good but there are so many things than Naruto (different kind of anime like Monster)

But inside my own family, I may be the only one watching anime (with my big brother) ¬_¬

My family too do not like anime. As expected, they will just say they are too childish and you shouldn't watch it so often. And they think that they are only serve for ages 9 and below. Omg, even my lecturer like to watch them as well~

I agree, mostly because I'm 21, going on 22 in a few months and I have piles and piles of anime & manga. If it's childish then I guess I'm gonna have a childish obcession the rest of my life hehe

Well my family also doesnt understand anime...my dad trys to say random gibrish when he walks by when im watching anime (i think he is imitating japanese or something), my mom just says i should be studying more and no-one else cares. My friends that watch naruto, like others have said in this thread, naruto is just all tehy know. and there is so much better stuff out there. i do my best to get them to watch but only a few have converted. but still i have a few friends that watch about as much anime as me, but have not been doing it nearly as long!

My parents don't personally care much for anime or cartoons even. Not that they think it's childish or that it's bad. They're just not interested in it, thus don't really think much of it. My older brother and sister loves anime and manga like me, except I'm more of an anime freak than them. I don't really have a lot of friends that watch anime either except one.

I'm more or less in the same boat as pink-sakura. most of my family don't care for anime - i think the only thing remotely close that they watch is "King of the Hill". not sure why though since my parents are both asian, heh. only my little brother watches anime other than myself. he was actually the person who introduce me to internet fansubbing. i'm not a big anime freak like i use to be back in high school though. i use to buy VHS anime like crazy (before DVDs got really popular)
