This thread is now closed to suggestions as v5 is on the final stretch and is feature locked, bugfixing and testing will take until late-Febuary to mid-March. v4's launch was error filled so we want to take our time and have the perfect release!

We already have a number of new features to implement in the next iteration of AP but we would like to hear what you guys have to say as you will be the people using it. What do you like about AP, what do you dislike about AP and what would you like added to AP?

Any cool and useful suggestions will definitely be added in the next version of AP. Let us know your ideas in this thread.

I like AP for many things like how the pages load fast and so does the thumbnail. One of my favorite features is the Zoom In feature. I hope that won't be disproved in the next version. :)

I have an inquiry though. Will Version 5 have a different layout? Will we still be able to use the current CSS styles that we have today?

I really like AP like it is now.
The Zoom function is great, never want to miss that one, pics are loading so fast is great.
The only thing maybe is that it could be easier for us to make our own CSS-Styles.

Umm....some features i would like not to change too much is where the navigationbar and Sidebars are, i just finially figured out how to do the faded colours ^_^;; Another thing is the Highlighted wall at the side I would like for it to remain there.....Please and thank you very much!! If i have anymore suggestions i'll let you know! ^_^

I don't know whether it was mentioned before,... but there should be an alert button for every user, so that spammers among us can be punished quickly by the mods.

Comments which have only (bad) one liners like "I hate those fillers, it is so boring" should be deleted without questioning,... at least 2 to more lines should be required for a post. If some body hates or like something, one should give at least one reason...

About sections: I would add maybe a "movie"-section in which you can discuss about movies, Stars and anyhting related to it. Because among Anime fans there are still a lot of people who like real movies and have favorite real actors.
If it's possible divide them into "Hollywood" and "International" Movie section...

Well i like everything about Ap, its also my new home, cause this has become one of my personal favourite sites, i have made many great friends and learned alot about walling, and all this is because of the groups and the comments given by the user's.

What i really like is the feature zone of the wallpapers on the main page, i like how this site works, the layout and how you can create your own layouts, the rotating of the header banner, what really impresses me is that how much data is being stored here everyday and how perfectly it is maintained, the moderators and admins here are nice and are very helpfull.

As for my suggesstion, there are alot of things that are a bother such as when you leave a comment on someone's wall, you can't edit it, secondly i see people leave a comment then delete just to gain papers, so i was thinking that maybe removing the delete button with the edit button that might be very usefull, secondly it would be really nice if the option in the groups to feature there wallpapers to be active.

plus i am looking forward to see the next version.

Although the possiblity of spamming is there, it would be nice to let group administrators send a single message to all group members at one time. This would save lots of time for the administrator when news is important enough to message all the members.

Asuming most of the (good) stuff on AP v4 will remain the same. I am asuming the css-style remains the same. and own custom css style creation is still a matter of asking nicely to the profesionals ;)

A adding to the 'quick list' ore a nice big button togerther with the 'read the ap guide'- donate and 'firefox' button. That when clicked it automaticly boots up the IRC-client and does a auto-join on the IRC channel instead of manually having to locate and join channel. this works easier for the fresh/lazy-IRC users

Option to set up something like a adress-book ore a multiple reseavers list at once, instead of having to click the option on the persons AP-profile. Also maybe option for group administrators to send a message to all group members at once.
Options like this will have to come with high spam-protection, so like a group-message to all members by a administrator of that group may only be send out once every 3 days ore something like that.
A spam-protection for person messages would be maybe like a maximum of 3 receivers at once ore more receivers but then also a timer for only-once-every-X-hours/days/etc

Also when V5 is released be sure that before this happens that the scans and gallery and all has a nice clean-out so that all is clean and fresh for a new start.
I would not complain if AP would have a few Hours to set up all the new stuff. (im thinking this is probably going to happen anyway)

* Allow edit comments on wallpapers (or allowing to delete and than comment again). Currently if you delete you cannot comment again
* Allow comments on scans, sometimes you cant to praise a vector, ask for another version or point the fact there is another version of it and you must do that thru PM, and sometimes it's nice to see people sharing toughts on a scan.
* Allow fav without comment. Would prevent people doing useless comments just to add favs
* Better BB code editor on top of posting area would be nice =/
* I know the answer is no but since you asked: smileys? >.>
* Special area for wallpapers in progress instead of a Forum (SessionZero)
* Allow one to reply to individual messages when commenting a wallpaper (like deviart)
* Allow to add a comment when reporting something wrong with scan/paper. Some times I want to report something that is not listed (instance: porn) and I can't, have to PM a mod
* Make this site more inter-browser friendly. It really is slow on IE
* Allow multiple categories for a wallpaper
* Paging at category on scan/wall. That page tents to grow as more anime is released, it's already huge xD~
* Allow people to delete posts on their guestbooks, or at least a report function to it
* Allow searching for resolutions (##x##) or aspect (wide, 4:3, 5:4) on wallpapers
* Keep outgoing PM's so people can keep track of what they sent (might be auto-pruned after a time perhaps)
* Prevent visits/download horing on wallpapers to try and manipulate rank (log IP? dunno ... or change the current rank math)
* Give paper awards (like, 5 papers) for a correct report, to incentive people to report rips/dups etc... I see a lot of them but quite frankly I fell like tired of even trying to search for the dup just to report it (I know they are dups, but I don't want to locate them for instance) xD~ yeah I'm lazy, but that's the same philosophy of giving papers for people who participate right? =p
* Allow usage of shoutbox as search (if shout matches an anime title, just throw the user to the category index XD)

AP already use cache so in fact it won't have noticiable impact at all. I think loading the huge signatures of users on a forum is far more abusive than loading a set of 20 1k .gifs =p

Uh...why not add in a small notify box at the main page...Just that whenever people log into AP they can see the latest news without searching it through the forums...Everything in just one small corner...
