Not too much for me to say about this wallpaper that hasn't already been said: Dalarty has provided a descriptive walk through all the way from the concept idea, to its execution and ultimately its fruition. And you can really see how that careful planning paid off. But it just goes to show, good ideas take time---and a whole lot of patience!

Hi There!

im just new to the forum and i was wondering what you guys thought of J Drama and the various Live Action.
J-Drama = just like a normal soap(/drama)
Live-Action = from the anime but then 'live'

- Gokusen (J-D)
I really liked this drama, mostly because of Yankumi & Shin. The end was really great too. but i wont say to much else i ruin everything for you :P

- Gokusen2 (J-D)
pretty much the same as Gokusen. didnt liked this one that much because its all the same with different students

- Hana Yori Dango (L-A)
I can't explain how much i liked this story. i watched it from the beginning and every week i waited for the new episode. i think i saw all the episodes at least twice. this is my favorite drama. on a scale from 1 to 10 this one gets a 1000.

- Densha Otoko (L-A)
really liked this one too. it was my first live-action that i saw.
it was fun to see how clumpsy Yamada ruins everything. He is really in to anime and stuff and its kinda funny how an Otaku is.

- Kamisama mou sukoshi dake (J-D)
I kinda forced myself to watch this and it wasnt that great. But in the end I felt like someone stabbed a dagger in my heart and turned it around. After i saw the last episode i started thinking a lot about how it would be to have HIV etc. thats the part i like the most of this drama. it makes you think (about pretty muck everything)

All L-A's & J-D's were subtitles because im not thát good in Japanese (yet :))

i would like to know what kind of drama's you've seen (or L-A's of course) and what you recommend.

I've seen a couple. I think I'm really addicted to the Korean dramas. I really really like Full House, which is also a manga. There are a ton of different kinds of asian drama's at http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/index.php and http://japan-tv.afraid.org:6969

Both are bitorrent sites, which is not a hard program to dl or use. They also have forums, and there are a lot of recomendations.

Aww...I thought GTO Live Action was MUCH better than Gokusen. Takashi Sorimachi is hilarious. Either way, both are great dramas.
Hana Yori Dango was...okay. The ending was kinda...off. MatsuJun is hilarious in it though. =]
Densha Otoko was one funny drama, although it was a bit slow with all the computer scenes, great nonetheless.
A drama you might want to check out is Beach Boys, a comedy about living life carefree. Takashi Sorimachi is in it and it is hilarious. Check it out. =]

I watch a lot of J-Dramas but I usually prefer the ones that aren't anime/manga adaptations. I just don't find they do as a good job - what seems fine in a manga or anime looks too ridiculous in live-action. I liked GTO and it was the first jdrama I watched but looking back now, it wasn't as good.

Some of my favourite jdramas: Heaven Cannot Wait (it's weird but really cool), Oyaji (if you like family stuff), Investigator Mariko (kind of like CSI) and Yasha (this is probably the most original j-drama I've watched that mixes in sci-fi, drama and action).

I started to watch dramas and live-actions in the end of last year... And i must say I'm getting addicted to them \o/ I didn't know there were so many great series out there! My favorites are:

- Gokusen: this is one of my favorites! I had so much fun with Yankumi and Shin!
- Gokusen 2: not as great as 1, but I like this one too ^^
- Hana Yori Dango: My favorite one, maybe? I started to really like Matsumoto Jun's work because of this live action ^^
- Summer Snow: It *almost* made me cry ^^' It has such a touching story
- Slow Dance: I lost some of my sleep hours with this one ^^ It also has one of the best soundtracks of dramas I ever heard ^^
- Hotaru no Haka (Grave of Fireflies): this one is very very sad ;__; about World War II

I like some others too, but it'd take forever ^^

I've only seen one episode of Densha Otoko. I found it really entertaining. I loved looking at all the paraphanalia (spelling?) in his room. I would be interesting in seeing more of this particular series, but im not sure about other j-dramas.

I actually liked gokusen more than i did GTO live drama. GTO live drama seemed low budget. but thats obviously comparison to GTO anime. if i saw the drama first i would have different tastes for it. thats just how it goes with watching adaptations.

but i am definitely looking for more jdrama to watch.

as for korean dramas, my sassy girl rules all!
its so good they are making a US version =]

Prince of Tennis musicals. Those are crack. XD It's silly and it's fun. The Sailor Moon live action scared me, as did the musical. Hunter-Hunter and Bleach, on the other hand, I thought was pretty good.

Oh, and the Tokyo Babylon live action was awesome for such an obviously low-budget film.

I love J drama! More than any drama but I'm biased in my taste as I grew up mostly in Japan rather than anywhere else. I cannot stand US soap operas. Put an end to those 30 year running shows! Please! But other than J-Dramas I like to watch korean ones. They are good!!
