Okay I stumbled upon this site when I was looking for a decent Rozen Maiden wallpaper. I found them here among other beautiful wallpapers. Like a leeching idiot I signed up and started downloading wallpapers without reading anything (didn’t know about that 15 downloads in 24 hours thing). That was until there was a hold on my account, stating that I must contribute. -_-! So I'm freaking out because I haven't the foggiest idea how to make a wallpaper. Than I realize that I could turn in scans. ^_^ So I did that instead, but I still want to try my hands at wallpapers. Unfortunately, I have no idea what anyone is talking about. ( I really feel stupid) Anyway, I'm really excited about being part of this community, but I am kind of shy about posting things. It took me forever just to get enough courage to post this.

Dont worry, we respect what you post/believe at AP and wont do anything to stop you from posting, that is unless you post spam or retarted things, then you'll be fined or banned or just lose your posting abilities! But dont think about that, you seem like quite a nice person.
After a while you'll realize what each word means, like extracting means to pretty much cut a character or something out of another picture and vectoring is taking a picture and copying it but making it look better at the same time.

Its not that hard to earn papers, look at me all I do is comment in the forums and on wallpapers... All you have to do is write what you think ^_^

I got most of my papers from scanning. They give you about a hundred for each scan.

Another good way to learn the lingo is by reading tutorials online or in books. There are literally thousands, if not millions, of Photoshop/Illustrator/Paint Shop Pro/Fireworks/what-have-you tutorials on the web that you can get for free. Good luck!

Do you have any recommendations? Since I tried last night and one of the sites uploaded a virus on my computer, which led to the blue screen of doom. It just fixed everything. Oh oh! Leridan, you and I are the same age. ^_^ And I like Vincent too. Would like to be my friend?

One of my favorites is Phong. There aren't many, and they don't really apply to anime wallpapers, per se, but it's a good place to start. Anson Vogt, the creator, is an amazing artist. His creativity is limitless.
Ningen has a few that are pretty decent.
Absolute Cross has a ton of Photoshop tutorials.
Another good resource is custom brushes. You can find them online, too. Some are free, some aren't. A lot of the artists here actually link to their resource sites, so make sure you read the comments for wallpapers that you really like. ^^

Full sail . . . Oh, is it that really cool school that's like somewhere near or in Orlando? How do you like it there?
Yeah, it's actually in Orlando, about 30 minutes from Disney World. I love the school, but it's a lot of hard work and really rigorous hours. You really have to be dedicated to achieving your goals in order to succeed, because the school runs 24/7 class schedules, and you get very little sleep. ^^; It's kinda like a boot camp for computer animation. They also teach game design and development, recording arts, digital media, film and show production, as well.
