Anyone play a musical instrument?
I personally play the piano myself. I can play many songs from Final Fantasy such as 1000 words, Yuna's Ballad, Melodies of Life, Tifa's Theme, etc... I also play some normal music too such as Fantaisie Impromptu. Some of my friends play drumsa and guitar too. I heard it's mentally good if you play an instrument. Balancing both sides of the brain of something like that though that's not the reason I play. I play just for the fun of it and it does relax my mind when I'm pissed off in a way. I can't see how it has helped my studies like most phychologist say though. Does anyone else play an instrument? Does anyone else who plays gains enjoyment like I do? Or is it just me?

I play the piano, too. I downloaded some sheet music for games off the Internet, but I haven't mastered any of 'em yet. ><;; XD Guess I set my sights too high...But I can pick out individual melodies, lol. I'm hoping to take up the violin.

I play only one.. and that's the guitar. I used to play solely acoustic guitar but got swayed to play electric when I read BECK.. sheesh.. manga influences me in soo many ways. I'm no pro but I can play decently.

I play the guitar, and a bit of piano. and yes, I also like to play those anime/game music from time to time :D
But, usually its hard to find good anime/game music scores...or tabs... so usually I try to play them from listening to the original song...and thats where the fun is:

About that psychology thing where it improves your study...I think it's true. I'm not sure how it helps you when you're playing...but I'm pretty sure it helps your brain when you study music theory.

I've been playing for almost two years now, but I have educated myself haha. I play the rhythm or lead (whatever) and do the vox in my band so I have many experiences..though I'm no pro yet. Right now i'm trying out to do bass. I tried to play some of anime music with my bandm8z but they wouldn't agree with me haha...I wonder why.
Well...I can't imagine myself not playing my guitar. It's like the love of my life lol. And yes, you are right, just playing it gives me real joy. ^^

I used to play the clarinet, but that was for less than a year before I gave it up. I was in fifth grade and we had to rush off to band practice while class was in session. Hmm...maybe that's why I don't like history as much, since I missed half of it while learning how to play the clarinet! (14 years later, and I'm not even sure if I've spelled it correctly! ^_^;)
I remember really wanting to play the saxaphone, but I can't remember who stopped me. I wish I had played the sax and kept learning because then I could play my favorite song ever: Space Lion by Yokko Kanno from Cowboy Bebop.

Oh, well.
Now all I can do is play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the piano and it sounds TERRIBLE!! TT___TT

I play the piano and the saxophone, and a little guitar. I've played the piano ever since I was little, and the saxophone for school. I don't really play songs from anime or games...my brother is the one who does that. I used to though.
For the psychology thing, if you start playing an instrument when you're little, it's supposed to make you better at math because a lot of it has to do with numbers. I think that's true because I played piano since I was little, and I'm really good at math. A lot of other people I know that are good at math started playing an instrument when they were little.

I play the piano, but i really wanted to play the violin and the cello. I can play Sango's theme and Shuichi's theme. But I want to learn more songs cuz I just started at the end of August last year. I want to learn songs from Please Teacher, more Gravitation, Naruto, and More Inuyasha, namely Shinjistu no Uta(I heard the song being played with the cello and the violin and it sounded so cool.) So anime OSTs inspire me to play instruments.

I play the guitar, I'm still a beginner but I'm practicing a few hours every day trying to learn all the basics and get them down before I move on to the harder stuff. I want to eventually get god enough to where I can play all my favorite songs.
