Is sex a WANT oR a NEED?
I see it as a need because it is part of nature. We are animals and one of our role sis to reproduce.
Please forgive me if I repeat something someone else has said- there are too many stupid comments on this thread for me to read on. >_<
Sex is not a need for a single human- it is a want.
Reproduction through sex is needed for a species to survive, but not from each individual human.
Humans need food, water and oxygen at the minimum. Some will argue that humans also need shelter (from cold and hot) and companionship.

Its a bit of both. Certainly we need it for breeding, but we cannot breed everyday now, can we? It's for our personal pleasure aswell as long as we don't jump off the hook aka sex all over the place, randomly. In my case there is only one with who I did things and he will be my last, but in many cases things are different. Sex is wanted for pleasure, lust, and wanted for breeding, stress relief and the ultimate act of love. If you're doing sex with the one you love, it's more likie making love not sex. Well that was my side of the view. XD
At your question I would answer that its both of it!I mean I don't know what other peopel heard but what I heard is kinda true and proved lack of sex can make peopel crazy.
Think at the guys who are in jail,many of them get crazy because they are between 4 walls and and because they lack contact with other people and they also lack their love life.Honestly this is not like only my opinion but its a thing that even doctors will agree with me.
And sex its also a want,many persons can see sex also as a manner of relaxation,of forgetting everything,something fun!
Ah also thinking at having children we oculd again sustain the idea that sex its a need but since we are humans we don't act by instinct so for us sex can be a "want" too!

Human needs are generally small, but the "wants" are unlimited. Hard for me to say if it can be both.
By definition it's a need, we may disguise it as a want, but it was and always will be a need. The desire to reproduce is one of the few things we cannot hide no matter how far we evolve, this drive will always remain. Not to say that there are a select few cases that actually do not like anything related to intercourse and any of it's aspects, but those are extremely rare.

Oh thats a weird one. I think for some people it's and need and other, its not a neccessary kinda thing. So in some cases it's a want and others a need. Depends on the person i guess.

It's a want and a need! Marraige can't go on with sex. We won't get kids without sex. It's a want because married couples want kids. It's a need because it helps couples bond...
