Hehe.. if video games were banned then that country's economy would take a real serious blow.
the gamin industry is too big to shut down and its impossible to shut it down.
the only thing these so called rep[resentatives of the people can do is come up with a stringent rating system.
gaming's targeted these days as the second biggest public vice, the first being alcohol and cigs.. not many cig smokers these days tho...lol

The US has banned a few games, though most were PC and had other illegal things about them other that being AO. Only concel game to get "banned" was GTA: SA. That's "banned" because it was jsut switched to AO and most stores have a policy that they don't carry AO games or X/NC17 movies. You remember what happened there? Rockstar fixed it, got an M rating, world kept spining.

Frankly, I don't think the US could, if anything Bill Gates would break down the Justice deparment's computer system by install in Windows 2000 or something. ;P Yeah, Microsoft and Sony would bitch endlessly and you wouldn't see diddly from Sony in new technolgy.

I know other countries ban particular games, Like Scotland and Australia I think are two. Anywho, I doubt they would since the industry is now near as big as the movie industry.

If they did ban games all the gaming companies will go out to business and we might get less exports. Also it might start an unemployment problems.

I think it's almost imposible do that in our days, even so that happends i think the fans and gammers do something to get and release the games ... (like a contraband of games XD) also if that happend the only way to get games it will be by piratery, that could be less expensive . Also i have heard that some games (some particulary titles) are ban in somes country, anyone now something about this??

Basically impossible with the existence of the internet itself. If you wanted to do that you'd also have to ban the internet, which would be incredibly stupid for the country's economy.

But let's say in theory only the games were banned, and the internet in the country was being monitored...well, I guess I'll apply some hacking skills, get the games illegaly and play to my heart's content.

Let them try to ban video games from me and see the horrendous rebellion myself and my minions would lead! It would probably seriously happen too.

Don't people watch the news? It said a while back (months ago) that not only does it improve hand eye coordination, it also helps the eyes period!

Banning games isn't very likely, but banning certain games can happen since controversial games like Man Hunt and Grand Theft Auto are violent, but all they really need to do to avoid that is just take out some unnecessary content. But overall just banning all games isn't going to happen since gaming is very popular nowadays.

I think id die if that happens. i mean think of all the free time id have. i wouldnt know wat to do with myself XD

My husband and I were talk about this the other day. People would probably go outside the whitehouse and start protesting and there would be riots and everything. They would start setting things on fire and blowing themselves and everything else around them up. XD There would be a major rise in terrorist attacks and all that jazz. People would protest so much the goverment would have to revoke this law.

Really, i dunno how crazy gamers would really go without. And i didn'y know that US bans games.

If you're talking about banning all games, I think that wouldn't even be possible anywhere. but they ban certain games in germany for example (which sucks of course, they don't ban violent movies or anything else, just video games; thank god I live in austria ^^)

Doesn't take much effect to me anyway, since i'll still be playing games wether it's banned or not .. .

If that ever happen, then in the long history of my country, only that time they will see the biggest and most violent civil war ever seen in the whole world. nah, just kidding, i guess put i'll just impeach all out senate and the president as well.
