Uhm i like MAI HIME I think that first development of history had so much better m MAI OTOME the first have more entertainment, action O_o is the BEST ^^ also I like but I have my doubts on that end I hope in OVA improve it...
I'd personally pick Mai Otome.
I don't really know the reason, it just grasped my attention more than Mai Hime... The "love story" between Arika & Sergay was pretty fun to watch.

Yes me also liked Mai-Hime more than Mai-Otome ,but Mai otome eps 23+ also have Mai ^^.

Hmmmm...it is a tough one, however the original Mai Hime is personally my favorite, it seems more in a better sense of the word more realistic as it is kind of a "high school" aime rather than a power rangery morphing type anime...
I think i like Mai hime because mai hime is better than mai otome....^^

/agree. Mai-otome was like a parody version of the original but good anime nonetheless Had good animation, sound and comedy, the story was a bit weak though.
Mai Hime was a helluva lot better than Mai Otome. A smoother storyline and no dumbass antsy made it much better. Not that I didn't watch all of Mai Otome though, but the only reason I watched Otome was because of Hime, and it was a let down.
Its a very dificult but I think that Mai Hime it is only a few better, the mechas particulary I love them, the songs too, but too it some more sad that Otome (Only a few), and the starring character (Mai) I cant stand, contrary to starring of Otome, Arika, that is kawai and I love it, However Otome is more complicated of understand that Hime. But There is some common to both and it is the radical change that stories experimented before of a few episodes.
Anyway, Both are great series.

Mai hime... thou i've only watch mai otome like 2 episode... but from the start mai otome didn't really catch my attention... but what i hate about mai hime was the ending..everyone died then came back to life.. its kinda.. lame.

For me Mai Hime is better one. To watched Mai Otome I needed to start it three time. I also watched two episodes of Mai Oteme Zwei and I'm waiting for the rest of ova series.
At the end of Mai Otome it started to be difficult to follow, Mai Hime was more easier and the story was better.
Mai-HiME was way better.. it has good storyline and characters. I still miss the Natsuki and Shizuru moments, hahas. hey hey but i'm not "into that kind of stuff".
Mai-Otome seems good too, it has some humor content, and I felt that the OVA was great, personally.

Mai-Hime was way bether!
Mai otome had too many unecessary things :/ like arika x sergey x nina (they are kids for god sake!)
But in both the action is top notch ;D

Yeah I agree with the rest. Mai Hime is better than Otome. The inset song is one of my favorite song, the story is easy to understand, and most importantly, the various emotion I had while watching this anime (I almost cry when Tate died...) which does not present while watching Otome.
