As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

For the group thing, I thinked I will wait for the v6 but if a lot of people ask for it, I guess I have no choice but to do it^^ To commemorate the SSS rating, the svg of my bakuman wall is on my last journal entry.Got to go doing teaching. See you later~

Ye mouton knows all ;) I am still a newbie with vectoring programs. In my journal is the progess so far for my Inkscape and AI project. The main difference I noticed so far is that in AI the pentool is editable at all times, in IS it is a different tool

Ctrl is useful when you want to control the angle of the vector. Shift is for asymmetric vector. You can combine the two also. One more thing, if you start an other path while pressing shift and that a former path is selected, the two will combined.

~NosVII 15 minutes ago
I only use ctrl for zooming, backspace I knew because it is the same in PS and AI. The shift and enter I didn't know, those are useful. I ended a path using right mouse on my last node

It would be a nice group! You should go for it Mouton.

Hi, mouton, I think it's time to open the Inkscape group, questions and new users are massively arriving, even for me XD

~Mysticmom2 17 minutes ago
Hey guys!

*moutonzare 21 minutes ago
You have to finish the path to edit it with the node tool. You can finish a path by closing it up or by pressing enter. You can also go back in the path by pressing backspace. I also suggest you to try pressing shift and ctrl while using the Bezier tool^^

~NosVII 26 minutes ago
Q mouton; Can you edit nodes while in bezier tool? Because now I finish a path first and then use the edit tool to change it.

Believe it, Stevie bought the rights to the whole manga, show and everything apparently.

Stated on a site is that by 2011, you will see the thing coming true on the big screen, larger than life, with Angelina Jolie, a typical scientology guy, Lawrence fishburne?

No, not kidding, though there is no official details on casting yet, it is easily the big news for the anime world as one of the all time classics with influences on heavy western ideals came on the big screen with real life acting.

I wonder if they place Angie in a skin suit like the one the major wears to dissapear back in the old series?
Heck, would they make a 3D render of the robots? including our favorite four legged friend of the Section 9?

They did some visually stunning cinematography with Aeox Flux which is in the whole field of techno-science visuals that Ghost in the Shell and such occupy. It's not surprising that Hollywood would take in GiTS as well.

The series has been a major influence in the action scene for Hollywood movies. The Wachowski brothers used a lot of scenes from the original movie in The Matrix. I think it'll be a well-done in terms of graphics and you can't go wrong with the plot since there's so much material to follow. They'll pull out all the stops for a GiTS live-action and it should rake in a hefty chunk in the box office.

In terms of casting, Jolie wouldn't be a bad choice. There's aspects of her that fill in the Major's role quite nicely like her rather casual seductiveness, and no doubt her body would be perfect. Shorten her hair to shoulder length and keep closely to the image of the Major in the original film (In the television series and other productions Mokoto's hair was dyed medium purple but in the original film it's black) and you'd have a winner. Angelina's proven to be hot with a gun in her hands. There's probably others who could fill the role just as well if not better. I can't name any actresses off the top of my head though but they may want to cast someone with more of an asian influence about them.

...Well, that should definitely be interesting. Angelina's not the most horrible choice, but there are definitely better candidates. She's got an almost masculine toughness about her too, despite her body, don't forget! ;P Am totally looking forward to that though. <3 emoticon3

Wow! That's great news! I hope it would as good or ever better than Aeon Flux. And not mess it up like what they did with the Resident Evil series..

I am afraid with Stevie behind it, it won't be messed up, I am worried from which part they are going to adapt it from.

I personally would vote a sentimental GITS installment on movie with Batou's 'Innocence' manga extra, or if they are going for action, which they definitely will, will it be from first season or the hots from the second installment?

Would it be intro to Section 9 via MIB (Men in Black if anyone remembers), ' we are the single, the only protection for you against the worse scums of the universe' into 'we are the section 9, we exist to protect you in secret, you won't remember that we existed'

I heard about it, although I haven't heard about Angelina Jolie there (and I rather that this part is just a rumor)
Still, I'm glad it got a good director >:3 emoticon

I think Angelina Jolie would be great for the part of major but there are other benefits of GITS going mainstream too, primarily that it will help the manga and anime industry. If Stephen does a good job the audience might want to see where it all came from. From there they discover manga and anime and it spreads out, just like how Lord of the Rings book sales jumped after the movies.

Yes, I totally agree with this one: it could help to spread the japanese anime world, and maybe also the mangas. Definitely.
But. There are "buts".
First of all I'm not sure that booby-angie suits the part of the Major; she's beautiful but she's just not right to interpret Kusanagi; because she has that smiley and sexy expression completely off topic with the Major role and because she's too much famous, too much hollywood. I'd rather see some chinese or korean actress.
And then I fear that the plot will be bad, because if S.S. try to retell some part of the story it will be a flop or a bad movie, too muche similar to others, and on the other hand if he try to make the film ex novo ... it's a familiar scene, isn't it? (resident evil)

I would love to see a film based on the Makoto-Batou story, with the athmosphere of "Innocence" (best of the best), or the futuristic society painted so well in the two series, with a good revisitation of the "individual eleven" case and some good action.

Can't wait anyway!

It seems that many directors are looking to international stories to base their movies off of. I think Steven would be able to pull it off amazingly (maybe another George Lucas collab?). As for the leading lady, I was thinking someone with more of an edge like Mila Jochavich (sp!).

Will The Matrix copied from GiTS so we know they can sometime like GiTS. So I have high hopes for the movie.

This is really exciting news for me. Yes there are many pitfalls this could fall into, but it could also turn into something very fantastic. Personally for me, a sort of retelling of the laughing man complex would be pretty awesome, or base it off the first movie in some fashion would be great too. There are many ways it could play out very well, and many that it could be a fiasco for us otaku.

I keep trying to think of anyone that might be better for the role than Angelina, and to be honest it isn't a very long list. If they are going to make it a big budget, Hollywood film (it's Spielberg, lets be honest, it will be that way) then Angelina would fill out the figure or the major, and she has a decent reputation in prior films to have an edginess to her, my main concern is can she be as straight faced as the major and not throw around that smile of hers. Kate Winslet, or for a more asian version possibly Maggie Cheung, but for the kind of budget Spielberg would pull for making a movie, especially one of this setting, Angelina might just be the right person for the job. Either way 2011 isn't all that close, so time will tell.

Edit: Also, after thinking a bit Kate Beckinsale might be able to do the role as well. At least judging by her from Underworld.
