I Could Play This Game FOREVER!!!!!
After posting almost exclusively about fighting games, I don't want people to think that I'm only a fighting game girl! RPG's are just as dear to me...maybe even more dear to me! So...here's a post about RPG's and a tribute to our memories of them!
After playing through Chrono Trigger for the first time, I just knew that it was an experience that I had to go through again! ...and again...and again...and again. Now...20 plays later and seeing each ending at least twice, I still get the urge to play that classic RPG! Most RPG's are good for one or two times through, but Chrono Trigger never fails to move me! All the endings, the lovable characters, the simple but fun battle system, the cute art style...I could go on forever! And the soundtrack is playing in my CD player with just as much longevity... (^-^)
Xenogears. Rarely does a single word ever evoke so much joyful emotions! With an awe-inspiring complex and deep story, an innovative battle system, a breathtaking soundtrack, and beautiful anime-styled characters and story scenes - this game sits right next to Chrono Trigger as my two favorite RPG's of all time (and probably favorite of any games!). After playing for hours and hours, powering up all of my characters, finding every secret, learning every combo, completing the game to 100%, and then watching that final anime ending sequence...there's no way to describe the satisfaction I felt. I thought to myself, "After playing this game...I will never be the same!" I would like to play it again, but if I never get to, this game has fulfilled its every purpose and is firmly esconced as one of my all-time favorites!
There are some games like Final Fantasy X that I played through and loved but thought to myself, "That was really great, but I'll never play through it again." Then there are games that I think, "Whew! I finally finished it! That was a lot of fun!" But afterwards, you can't remember anything about it and have to play it again to remember. But, these two games have had a lasting impact and stand apart from the rest and will never be forgotten.
Now, since this really wasn't meant to be an homage to those two games, I'd like to hear your experience on the game that has had the greatest replay value and the game that has given the most satisfaction to you! Please keep it to RPG's if you can! Yorishiku!! (^-^)
Note: Thanks to my best friend, Kim-kun, for helping me with some of the English! (^-')b

Damn you're lucky, I played Xenogear once, became addicted, but never bought it. I am still looking for that game.
On another note, one the best non-Final Fantasy RPGs I played was EVO: The Search for Eden. That was an addicting game, Enix was the developer. It was the first educational game that I played that did not suck. The game sort taught you about the Theory of Evoulation, in a quiet manner so as not destroy the fun. This is another game I wish I had bought when I had the chance. I would have to say the best thing about this game the endless possiblites available to the player to customize the creature you play. I rented this game repeatedly, and people saved the many creations they made, quite a few with dirty names, which I was guitly of a few myself.

I did the same renting thing with Crono Trigger. It took me eight years after Hollywood video took it off the shelve and it disapeared. I finnaly found a new copy of FF Cronicles at EB games last year so now I finnaly own it.
I really like RPGs, but I get bored and the only ones I've finished are for my Game Boy. But I'm back to playing Crono Cross, along with a guide book that I got from the library. I rarly ever finish a game, but those that I did, I do play again occasionally.

In my case I have to take into consideration how much time I can spend on a game since my college work eats up a good chuck of my time. I have Final Fantasys X & X-2 and I stll have not finished X yet. I am thinking of getting the guides so I can finish them in a hurry.
I have played/finished Valkyrie Profile 5 times in my whole existing lifetime. and I plan on playing it again next semester break.
The same goes for Castlevania: Symphony of the night. They are both ps1 games too.

I had Symphony of the night, but my bother lost it. DAMN, it was such a great game, nearly impossible to find these days.
Awww...poor Roy-kun! I love Symphony of the Night! My brother and I played it for so long!! I don't usually like Castlevania games, but this one was so different and seemed like an RPG too! My brother plays all of them, so I used to watch though.
Ooh, other games that I could play again and again are the Seiken Densetsu series! That is...in American terms, Final Fantasy Adventure for the Gameboy, Secret of Mana, Legend of Mana, and Sword of Mana - but especially Legend of Mana - it was cute and fun and easy to pick up and play for any length of time. Most RPG's are too serious and you can't just pick it up and play, you have to devote a lot of time to it, but Legend of Mana was easy going and you could play whenever you felt like it! I love it! (^-^)v

Funny you should mention Chrono Trigger. I JUST started playing through it again about four days ago, up to the save title Foward to the Past. After CT I think I'll pull out Secret of Mana or Bahamut's Lagoon :D
Baldurs gate 2 and Throne of Bhaal expansion.
On itself its immensely replayable, but due to excellent mod communities out there, there are endless new areas, quests and even characters that can be added to the game. One of the games that i will always return to.

The game that I would never get sick of playing is Star Ocean 3. It's fun, has good characters, a perfect battle system, and a great story. I really can't get over how great this game is, I haven't played it twice, only once. The reason is, I have worked way too hard on my current game to just start over. I don't have as much time for games as I used to, so if i'm gonna play Star Ocean, then i'd rather kick some ass in Sphere 211, then fight against weaklings with a lousy weapon.
Besides...the wait to get Albel into my party is simply too long if I start again!

Wow! Another Star Ocean 3 fan!! (^-^) Since I started posting on these forums, I found that most people didn't like Star Ocean 3, but I really loved it! There's so much to do in it, and it's got a great feel to it! I think all the characters are so lovable too! (^-^)v

I would not mind trying out Star Ocean 3, but I just can't find the time to play such a game at the moment. Is the game pretty good Asu-chan?

A few of my ultimate favourite games are tales of symphonia and phantasy star online^_^
The game i'll play forever... i think most of it is RPG game lol... the RPG game that i like to play the most is Final Fantasy 7... although it's from PS and the graphic is not nice, but the storyline of the game and the secret are really nice! the other RPG game i like to play is Final Fantasy X, Star Ocean 3, and so on... but the only one i'll play forever is still Final Fantasy 7! :)
Waaahhhh! Roy-kun, there's a mosquito in my room and it keeps biting me!! (T_T) And I'm so tired...I washed all of my clothes by hand in my bathtub today... (-_-) (_ _) <--- falling asleep at my computer.
Anyway, Roy-kun, I really like Star Ocean 3! It's a great game! The characters are very lovable and there are many "mini-games" or "sidequest" things to keep you busy. The story may not be the most incredible, but it's still good - and the battle system is really fun! Though, I don't have the time anymore either! (T_T) I'm playing La Pucelle Tactics right now and it's taking me forever because I never have time to play!
