Is anime A waste of time?
I don't think it's a waste of time but I have been totally caught up in it and that's all I
did for the entire summer. So I want to know if you think it is a waste of time or not?

Ask yourself this question: Do you feel that you have been wasting time with anime?
I don't know, but the standard definition of waste is like, not being productive with your life. I once spent about 5-7 hours working on my car, was trying to take the engine out, reconfigure it so my turbo kit can fit in there. I felt that I have done something, but my girlfriend yelled at me for installing that damn turbo instead of taking her out for some fun. THe point is, it differs from an opinion to another opinion.

I like anime, so if i like something then i am not wasting my time. xD

I see where you're coming from and you're right I did feel pretty good about watching Gundam Wing all the way through for I did feel I did something productive in learning the views of war from someone else. Thank you for your insight.

I'm actually the sort of person who feels that not being productive with school work and everything, is a waste of time, but that's just because the school I go to is really stressful and acidemic. I need to keep myself working to get everything done, so my mind has started to think that if I'm not doing anything productive, then there's something wrong. lol They even say that we have the highest suicide rate of all the high schools in the city..lol I think I might be getting off topic. Well, I also agree with Verticaldmg. You have to ask yourself the question. ^_^ Do you feel like that time you spent watching anime was a waste of time? If it were me and I enjoyed it, then I wouldn't say that it wasted my time, but somebody else might think different. :)

Personally, I really like anime, I mean it's something to do on a rainy da ( or all the time) but that's my opion and you shouldn't go on other peoples opnion. ^_^
Anime is no waste of time, if you enjoyed it, then you didn't waste time, if you didn't enjoy, why were you watching in the first place :lol:
It's not a waste of time if you enjoy watching it. One thing I warn all of you is that you learn to time manage. Sure, anime is great and all, but get out into the world and don't get sucked into the world of anime for too long. For me, the summer was a great time to watch anime in the cool air conditioned room with nothing to bother me. But now that school's started, anime becomes one of the last priorities. I used to watch 5-6 episodes or even a whole 12-14 episode series in one go, but now I can only limit myself to less than 2 per day, sometimes going a few days without watching an episode.

Oh hell yeah. In the grand scheme of things, anime doesn't really serve for self-efficiency. However, is it a worth while waste of time? I believe so. I never regret watching anime instead of doing other things. It's like when you sit back and think about how much of your life you spent playing video games instead of going out and doing something more useful. You never regret it, but it was still a poor use of valuable time.

And the funny thing was, I did not finish the installation and went on the very next day :/ She yelled at me, once again.
If you do what you like, then I don't think it is a waste of time. If I don't watch anime, I will go out and shopping. Then I should I ask myself am I wasting time and money? I do agree with ak47 that we need to manage our time. In the summer, I have nothing to do, so I watch about 5 to 10 eps a day but when school starts I only watch 2 to 3 eps a day. I always try to tell myself that I have to finish homework before watching it. (trying)
Anime is not a waste of time for me. I would love to have more time to watch anime, my job is killing my precious time. But I do make time to watch anime if I have the chance.
Wasting time for me would be driving and getting a traffic jam. Watching a movie(in the cinemas) that is boring. 2 hours wasted T_T Or doing things I don't like.

I don't think it is a waste of time for any of us seeing as must be enjoying yourself while watching it.. Also if it was a waste of time I doubt that there would be so many fans and forums where fans discuss it like we are now.
