Metalheads unite!
Didn't see another topic about this so are there any other fellow metal fans around?
Personally I'm mostly an powermetal fan and most metal where you can actually hear what they are saying :P
Stuff I listen to are things like Savatage, Dio, Chris Caffery, Crystal Eyes and such but also listen to other music ( also see my last.fm).
Also planing on going to graspop again this year which is an awesome metal event held in Belgium every year.

I was also planning to goto wacken which was sold out in... less then 2 days >_<
But yeah any other metalheads around here, any of you plans to goto graspop or elsewhere?

I think I'm a metalhead...
But I have no idea under what classification the metal I enjoy would come under, and it probably wouldn't seem all that metally to a full metalhead, things like 36 Crazyfists, Mudvayne, Trivium, Eighteen Visions and Disturbed, one's that are heavy, yet still have lyrics for the most part.
I don't have any plans to go any festivals sadly... I've never actually been to a proper live show of a band before, which is a pity... :(.

Wow, you guys are actually talking about REAL metal. Awesome.
Anyway, I've been listening a lot to Eluveitie lately, but I've also started to stray towards jazz and other strange shit, after being a metalhead for 10 years or something.

Well I guess I'm a metalhead too. Style.. Some thrash, postthrash, black, death, brutal death and some grindcore. Favoreite band.. Lamb Of god, DevilDriver, Pig Destroyer, Cryptopsy, Cataract, Nile, Iniquity, Disgorge etc :) I am glad that in this forums there are fellow metalheads :D \m/
^not a lot though. 4 posts in 3+ weeks.
Well maybe the other members are too shy :P
Other members are too lazy to look inside boards and wait for the thread to be bumped.
I'm of a peculiar sort, I prefer anything that comes in Metal Archives, except Thrash and -core, only exceptions including Slipknot, Bullet for My Valentine and DevilDriver. Favourite is Gothic, namely Sentenced, and from here on almost everything. Currently running a lot of Atmospheric Black, Folk, Brutal and Industrial Death and Funeral Doom.
Also, for the hell of it.

Metal Head, reporting in.
I am listening to all kinds of Metal, especially Melodic Death Metal such as Soilwork, In Flames, Dark Tranquility.
Other sub-genres are also great but Soilwork is simple my favorite band.
I am german, so it´s only natural to listen to Rammstein, Böhse Onkelz, Megaherz and so on. Currently I am listening to Blind Guardian, a very good power metal band. You should check it out.
I heard that Amon Amarth will play at this years Summerbreeze and I am not going to miss this. There are also a lot of other great bands.

Hmm, would Sikth or Sonata Arctica be classified as metal? I love those two bands.
Sonata Arctica are obviously not Metal. They are the bearers of the Melodic Grail.
Never heard of Sikth, but got one song off YouTube and seems pretty -core. Also, no entry in the archives.

You sir, are quite wrong. Sonata Arctica is considered Power Metal, or Fantasy Metal, akin to that of Dragonforce and Blind Guardian.
For the person that likes Soilwork, In Flames, etc., you should check out some Opeth if you haven't already. Also, Disarmonia Mundi has Soilworks front man, are more thrashy, like in Soilwork's earlier albums.
As for my metal tastes I've been kind of falling out of the heavier stuff, but am still quite fond of melodic metal (like above mentioned) and have lately picked up bands like Charon, Poison Black, and Lacrimas Profundere.

I was jesting, my dear sarcasm-ignorant friend. Note that I mentioned that they are bearing the Melodic Grail, meaning that they have transcended Metal. Their main inspiration was Stratovarius, Melodic FTW! (DragonForce = Fun Metal and Random Riffs to Listen to When Bored)
As for Poisonblack, just go for Sentenced ("The Cold White Light"). Ville's vocals are better, not to mention the music. Also, Miika Tenkula, RIP.

Kamelot is a metal band my husband and I enjoy. They are more of a melodic sort though, but really good.
Oh yeah or better to Say O Hell Yeah!! The metal is king of music and more Thrash Metal is the law, this is my cock with Sweeting Bullets Megadeth, She Wolf, Mechanix, Use the man, Rust in peace polaris ... Peace Cells, Trust song that touches my heart jiji, Almost Honest, 1000 Times Goodbye among others; Metallica Enter Sandman, Master of Puppets, Orion, The Call of Ktulu, to live is to die, All Nightmare Long, among others, Death Angel, Testament, Exodus, Kreator, Metal Church, Slayer but also involved in another category ..
