I've always wanted to use a sword. I love anime and the language of Japanese. I will probably learn how to use a sword when I'm older.

Grade school: my passion was learning EVERYTHING and designing buildings.
Middle School: my passion was theoretical astrophysics and math, and Dungeons & Dragons.
High School: my passion was art, English, Dungeons & Dragons, and hating everyone I went to school with.
College: my passion was teaching, art, English, and start of weight training.
Throughout this time my main hobby was collecting comics.
From 1989-Present: weight training has gone from passion to means for survival. I miss the competitions.
From 1992-Present: I still have a passion for Yuen Kay San Wing Chun Kung Fu, but the fire has suffered of late.
Up until I began my architecture license testing, the hobby that stood the test of time was reading. I have an extensive library of sci-fi, horror, and fantasy. Also, I began my mountainous anime collection.
Sadly, at this point in life, I'm merely going through the motions of living :( Almost makes me want t go back to posting my nudes on ratemybody.com

My bad for bringing this topic back up.
My main hobby at the moment is studying/collecting edged weapons. My specialty lies with Japanese swords. If there's any inquires, please don't hesitate to send me a PM.
@Entarul: We seem to share similar interests, if you have questions regarding; swordsmanship/karate/Japanese history/blacksmith, i might be able to help. I can probably go on and on about such topics so i'd rather not start the subject by sending YOU a PM.

Hobby? Definitely watching anime, learning Japanese, speaking Japanese, writing Japanese, Guilty Gear (2D anime-style ARCADE fighting game). I draw a LITTLE from time to time too so I'm not good with it. Oh, and I recently picked up reading manga. Japanese ones, of course.
My interests would be soccer, i want to become the worlds best goalkeeper, always wanted to learn japanese, how to use a spear (i think it's better stabbing someone frm about 12+ feet away), want to learn vovinam martial arts, keke...
I love sword mastery and my passion is that. ^^ I love sword martial art, because it's so cool, and I'll have a pride if I can master that kind of martial. ^^ Beside that, I love in playing computer. I'm not only play the computer games, but also play the "computer" itself, like playing the registry, tweaking, overclocking(will do^^), etc. ^^ I love these things because it's interesting to be learnt. ^^
Its very interesting to learn what you all like to do thank you fore posting
My official hobbies are being a patrol leader in scouts and singing in a choir :3
But I really enjoy watching anime, singing and writing fanfiction ^_^ English language also interests me and I want to become a translator ^__^

Hey! All right! Keep on with scouts, it's worth it for the experiences you gain. ^_^
Hmmm. I'm dedicated to my swordsmanship and my pole fighting. I prefer japanese swords like the katana, but I try to be flexable and enjoy using short swords too. For pole weapons, I love them all, be they staves, or spears, or halbreds, or naginata, etc. I can't get enough. The fighting form for all of them is just so incredably cool once you get past the standard "hold it out and poke" mode (though that's just about all you can do with the really long ones).
As for learning, I'm hooked on biology. Ocean biology in particular facinates me. I love lobsters, and not just when they're boiled and buttered. Them, and squid/ octopi. Cuttlefish (a kind of squid) in particular are really cool to watch as they change all sorts of colors.
Horseback riding for me. And, I bet 95% of you have never really riden a horse.
Those little places where you pay $30 to ride up an down a mountain or through the desert, or on the ocean line is NOT riding a horse. That is sitting on some automated nag that gets riden 8 hours a day on the same path, and is so dead tired, it wouldn't buck you off for a carrot or a bee sting.
Try riding a young one that has never seen a saddle before, and make it do exactly what you want, when you want, forcing it to ignore it's instincts to shy away and run from scary things like dogs barking, trees blowing in the wind, and water rushing at its hooves.
Now that is riding a horse! And it is a fun, and dangerous sport that leaves you feeling accomplished at the end of the day. (Sometimes bruised and missing some limbs, too...)

*rubs his lower back instinctively*
Being a native Kentuckian, and having ridden many not-so-tame horses on my family farm, I can say that I have felt that special connection as well. It awakens something in you that most people haven't felt in a long time. You feel the horse responding to your will . . . but just barely. It's quite an exhilarating feeling, as is the most exciting trip off the horse if you lose focus or he/she becomes tired of you being aboard.
Hobbies . . . hobbies . . . *taps his thumb on his head to encourage thoughts*
I suppose if you want to call Pekiti Tirsia a hobby, there's that. I think of martial arts as a regimen rather than a hobby.
Stella is trying to get me to start drawing as a hobby, but I'm not so good. I also play video games on the rare occasion that I'm not running around.
I envy you on blacksmithing. That seems like a really dirty, hard-working hobby. My kind of fun! There are two or three legally operating forges in New York, and they're privately owned. Sounds cool, Entarul!
Regards, Aaron

Art really means a lot to me. It like flying kinda lol. You can go wherever you want and try anything you want. It's a path of self discovery you know. =]
Yeah, and I just generally like learning about stuff. Don't like gaps in my knowledge.
