This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Hey Kai. How's it going? It is better to hang out with friends in bars. More alcohol in bars than in school.

I don't have any friends at school. They hate me because I'm quiet and not popular.

I always wondered If America will ever produce a successful Anime. I got to thinking this When I caught the new Afro samurai on spike T.V. Which was AMAZING for a U.S. Release. I was amazed something so good could come from america. But then I got Read the names of those who worked on it and assumed most of them to be japanese. Then after doing my homework a little further. I learned that the afro samurai Storyline was based of a Japanese Manga. So In the end I was disapointed.

There are other american animes out there . But none to great. Like totaly spies. Which is definatly anime influenced. But sucks Real bad.( no means to offend anyone who may liek that show, thats just my opinion)

SO does anyone think america will ever create a decent anime??

No, its impossible lol. The closest thing I've seen to acceptable US animation on TV is like the Justice League and associated series. That and at most a handful of misc. other shows on Cartoon Network.

American cartoons were in their heyday when I was really young (like 12-15 years ago). I used to watch stuff like the ORIGINAL Johnny Quest, The Centurions, and many others. I think most of the new stuff is crap, and its really sad to see the way adult swim is now (in my opinion at least).

Just my 2 cents.

Anime is animaton created by Japanese in Japanese for the Japanese people. So no, America will never produce anime, unless Japan takes the US over.

Will the americans every make anything as good as anime? Well, if you only look at family programs, comedy or childrens programs, then they already have.

Will the US every make animation for older teens/adults, or in genres like drama, romance,or anything with serious topics like war? No, they probably won't anytime soon. Most people there still think the reason why people watch anime is because of big eyes and funky hair. The general public also still thinks cartoons are only meant for kids or for comedy. Anything like Ghost in the Shell or Grave of the fire flies would be made as a live action film, not animated, and they would be forced to have happy endings too.

Have you heard of Avatar: The Last Airbender? It is created by Nickelodeon. The creators are English according to Wikipedia, but I don't know who the artists and other staff are. I am really impressed by the art for it being an American anime. Sometimes, I can't tell if it's an original Japanese anime or not. I've only ever watched one episode, but it was pretty interesting and I would have liked to watched the whole series if I had the chance. I think the voice acting was pretty good too. Now, just to let you know, it's not easy to impress me with any American anime...

Furthermore, I don't like how America is trying to draw like the Japanese. They have their own style (which is also beautiful and unique) so I find that it is a shame for them to change it only because anime is becoming more popular there.

And I've always known Nickelodeon for a distinctive type of (Rugrats) drawing, but now it makes a series like Avatar and it feels wierd to me...

Well, Americans are pretty diligent and there's one show that resembles anime which is, The Avatar: The Last Airbender. I find this episode to be rather enjoyable and the animation is mostly consistent, well-drawn, and the plot is ok. Actually, at first, I wondered if it was originally from Japan, but it has too much of an American edge when it comes to the personalities of the characters to be Japanese. It's a pretty good show and when it comes to industry and money, we all know America is talented in achieving that and if some studios like Nickelodeon try hard enough, they might just be able to grasp the anime ways since they certainly have the funds.

I would like to see a very successfull English anime, one that's aimed at the english market. i don't believe I have seen one that can bee seen by all audiences (Adults to youths) and neither being ashamed to say they've watched it. But I think that a succeessful English Manga would kick start the English Anime market.

I would say no. Anime is from Japan, made by Japanese people and original language is mostly Japanese. They can however make something that looks like anime, but that will never be a true real anime.

I have only watched several American Anime—Spider Man and another one which is about a large dinosaur fight against the others monsters with its “master” who was into its first sight when it pipped.though I only have watched little American Anime,I think Spider Man should be the best one,or one of the best and famous anime. It is no doubt that Spider Man is one of the most successful anime, also its movies,I am very looking forward to the third movie of Spider Man,the first is okay and the second one is very excellent, especially the wonderful fights like the fights on the train and in the last part, they made me very excited, and I love watching the scene when Spider Man is flying among the high buildings,it is quite real and convulse me so much~~as to the anime of Spider Man,I watched many years ago,but I still can’t forget it and I even can remember many scenes of it,the scene where Peter became a monster(is it called Venom?or Venom is another character),I remember that when Pete became a moster,he was more like a real Spider, except he was much more bigger,he had many tentacle and his half body became more like the Spider while the other part was still of human, that is he was a big spider with the crura were of human. It was so cool but a little terrible.

I think, the best American anime till now is only the animes from Disney channel. ^^ The other is so bad, far from the Japanese animes. ^^ The Americans anime usually created for the children till early adult films, like Rugrats from Nickelodeon, the cartoons from Cartoon Network, and the films and cartoons from Disney Channel. ^^ Maybe sometimes, I watch it if there is no new Japanese animes. ^^

Have you seen the Afro Samurai? It was produced by GONZO North America. So I would like call it a American Anime.Although having only 5 episodes,I find it more interesting than most of the recent JP Animes.I just want to say,we needn't require the American Anime to be the same thing like those of Japan.

Oban Star Racers and Avatar are clear proofs of quality. Both of them are really good, and they weren't born in Japan.

Oban's case is a bit more complicated because, even if the production, the script, the CGI sequences during the races and all that was done by Sav! The World (a french company, if I remember correctly), the animation for the characters was done in Japan. But the final result is extremely good.

I am highly interested in watching Afro Samurai, after hearing a lot of good things about it.

There is no such thing as an american anime. Anime is MADE by the Japanese, and FIRST AND FOREMOST for a Japanese audience. So no, there is no such thing as an american anime.
