After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

I think she would like that. But our mom might hold her hostage. That would be the only problem, her getting out of the house lol

Hello,

This is a wonderful start. I'm amazed at the work on the background especially. Did you paint/create the ocean and beach yourself? If so you've definately got talent. Perspective, light, color, and composition are all nicely done. I'd have to stare for a while longer to come up with any ideas to help with the background however I have suggestions for your scan.

1. Soften the edges a tad. They seem a little to hard against the soft yet sharp background. A little more work with the shadow would be a nice touch. Hmm...softer shadows. That'd work out atleast the way I see it. Try it and see what you think.

Thats about all I can think of right now. Hopefully we'll have some more people to offer suggestions. Keep up the wonderful work ^_^.

TTFN - Ta ta for now.

Yep, a bit of work on the scan edges obviously and make sure you finish off the towel ^^

i think you mite want 2 add some edges 2 the hat...4 me, the hat looks like a texture and doesnt appear 2 b veri realistic. also, darken your birds a bit. the sun IS shining but your birds look almost like they're glowing

nice variation of clouds, btw. the wall doesnt look boring and repitive this way. good job and good luk! =]

I love the background. The only thing bugging me is the hat. The other thing that sort of caught my eye is the flying object with two trails. Is it an airplane sort of mixed in a flock of birds?

I have changed the colour of the towel and I think it looks better now even tho I got some probs with the shadows(damn mouse- need to learn to use the **** tool). The birds aren't glowing that much anymore and added an edge to the hat. Maybe I should do something about that hats texture... well, the rest is a bit finetuning...

It's looking a lot better. My advice would be to definatly sort out the texture on the hat, at the moment it doesn't really look right.

Also my other two niggles are the butterflies which I personally don't feel go with the rest of the wall, esspecially as you have the birds there in white already. I would either change the colour of them or get rid on them completely.

My other niggles is the lens flare for some reason it doesn't look right on my screen, the colour of the main circle around the sun looks like it's the wrong kind of colour or needs to be a little more transparent. It's drawing my eye into that corner at the moment because it doesn't blend well with the rest of the colours in the wall.

Good luck and this will be an awesome wallpaper when you have finished it! Yay for more Haruhi walls :P

Its a good start.. you need to fix a lot of stuff though.. like those birds in the sky.. don't put too many.. it doesnt look good.. the background doesn't really blend with the character.. ok.. redo the sky.. don't use CLoud brushes.. go to a site where you would find sky Stock images.. stock images are better than brushes.. then remove the sunlight rays.. or replace with a better one.. you also have to fix the ocean and the sand.. the water is way blue-er than the sky.. looks really weird.. and it looks too realistic.. you also put alot of sparkles and it kinda killed the whole thing..

uhmm.. the sand.. mmmm.. it just doesn't look right. thats it.. good luck

Haha...the towel looks more like a silk scarf now XD

veri nice work, great improvements...the hat is still bugging me tho =[ try adding some lines in 2 add 2 the hat instead of relying on the texture 2 do the job. rite now, it still looks like a blob 2 me. the outline helped a bit but the inside still looks realli fake.i dont mind the lense flare but thats just me...mayb move it a bit further in2 the corner so we can onli see the bottom quarter of it?

thats all from me. keep it up! =]

Oh its really good :d I love how you did for the sea and sand. But I dont really like a sky color, its a little bit off for me, try to make it more soft and colorful, and also reduce the amount of birds on the right side because its look to crowded.

Good Luck :D

OMG, now that I come back from a long rest, I see what has been bugging me the most about that hat ^^ It’s the edge! You could probably get away with the texture on the body of the hat but the parts that stick out on the edge really need some work. Right now, the edges look like they stick out from the hat and then merge. You need to add edges and make one of them come out on top of the other. Argh, I don’t think that came out right. Here, this is what I mean. Hope you don’t mind me messing around with your wallpaper =]

Now, compare the edges of the hat on the left with the right. I just quickly added in some defining edges. Yes, I know its not great but it is sufficient to get my point across: Your hat still needs a bit of work! After that, you can also play around with the shadows to make sections darker than others so it gives them more depth (I tried to do that as well but it’s a bit hard without the layers). Hope that comes out alright ^^

Now, about your clouds. There are three distinct types of clouds in you BG. Well, at least to me it seems like there are three types. The first one is the one on the horizon, the ones that are at the border between the sky and the ocean. The second are the scatter clouds in the sky and the last are the solid clouds up in the top left corner near the sun. The first two look alright together but try to change the last one. The clouds in the top left corner look too solid and 3D compared to the thin drifty clouds that dominate the rest of the BG. Try altering it a bit.

As for the birds, well, personally I like them. They look alright. Cessa mentioned the butterflies and I think I would have to agree. Do they really match the rest of the wallpaper? =/

Did that idiot copy my post? o_O No matter, guess he was banned anyway.

Right, just a quick scan over it, I can tell you removed the butterflies and the cloud in the top corner. Much better in my opinion. Overall, I think the wallpaper is very good, the composition and the textures that you’ve used are excellent. The last thing that STILL bugs me is the hat. Before I launch into a rant, let me give you a bit of advice. Don’t bother with the text. Many wallpapers are perfectly fine without any additional text and are actually wrecked by the author trying to tag in a catch line to the wallpaper. This wallpaper is just like that.

You have the birds, the sun and the slanted beach to draw attention away from the central character already so you definitely do not need extra text. It might have been alright if she wasn’t positioned in the exact center of the wallpaper (so if she was on the left side with quite a lot of empty space on the right) but the way you’ve arranged it, the wallpaper is just short of saturation.

Now, back to the hat. It’s improved with the edges but the main body of the hat just doesn’t cut it. =/ If I remember right, did you say that you added the hat in yourself? If so, then I suggest that you try and re-vector a better hat (I know, a big ask at this stage of the wallpaper production but I really think it’s worth it) This time, however, instead of just using a pattern and a gradient overlay to provide the hat with texture, actually vector it in. Right now, the hat edges look alright but the main mass of the hat simply looks like a blob. If you really want to submit, I think that would be the sole reason they could reject you. Work at it, the hat is just as important as the rest of the wallpaper =]

EDIT: and yes, I know that I make long posts but this is the only way I can give thorough feedback =P
