The age that should not matter as much so long as both of you are mature (you should be adults). Age should be less of a factor. I agree with Rath though that sometimes certain combinations of couples are, well, suspect. But this is shearly opinion.

Ii personally perfer a guy that is closer to my age, hmm, and i would perfer him older...except because im still in grade 9, and it so happens that my birthday is like JANUARY 5TH! ---im older than MOST (not all) the guys in my grade, which sucks, because all of them are like my good friends, but its ohkays, i never thought any of them that way.

Lol. Of course you should date whoever you feel like whether they're much younger or older then you. It's all about the feelings, and if you are uncomfortable dating someone your junior or senior, then I guess that means your feelings just aren't strong enough.

I think Dating is not a problem for any age! Like if you... 80 and your wife/husband already die and you pay attention at somebody. You and somebody like each other and have a date. Or if you 3 years old, you like a girl/boy next door then you guys go to play some games and like each other. It's... kind of a date!

I was 20 when I started seeing my current girlfriend, and we are five years apart. Parts of it have been difficult, but mostly it isn't a problem.

Well i think it matters with age currently and of the partner for example

a 10 year girl with at 19 guy...just doesn't work (for one...it looks perverted)

although a 21 girl with a 30 year guy would be socially accepted to some degree..

so basically i think the only key face is the base age of the female

I don't think there's a problem of the age that someone starts dating, but the age difference between the two does matter. I'm a junior in high school, so I wouldn't like my girlfriend to be over 1 grade below me. That's just my personal opinion though.

I personally prefer to date people of the same age or younger than me, but under some circumstance i would allow the girl to be older, but no more than a year. Its more easy to communicate with people around the same age, because they tend to share more interests, but than again love comes in many different forms so this is just my preference.

Well, I like them around 2 years older/younger than I. It also depends on the person, but usually they are the same age. It's not really bad, in my opinion, if a person likes younger or older people. Go with what makes you happy as long as it's legal.

I don't particularly care. I'd go out right now, but there's just no girl I want to go out WITH. FYI, there are plenty of girls after me.

Well... I'm a girl. I don't know if this has an impact or not, but from what I see, some girls prefer someone who's older than them. I personally don't have any problem with it. It'll be okay as far as he's not as old as my father. I mean, 6 - 9 years will be okay. Why?? Well, maybe because, older guys are more mature (?) I know that it really depends. At least, that's my reason. I love to laugh with my, but when it comes to love, I want someone who understand me and care, wise, mature, etc, etc, bla, bla, bla.

My father are 18 years older than my mother. So, I definitely have no issues about age and love.

An interesting question... i never really thought about it so much that i would put an actual figure down...

i'd say that it also depends on how old YOU are. i mean, if you're only 16, and you want to date someone who is 25, i'd say that's a huge difference to cross. but if you're say, 25 years old, and you want to date someone who is 34, the age gap becomes less obvious, and more acceptable.

personally, i wouldn't date someone that much older than me. well, i can say this now, but if i find a perfect guy who's 10 years older than me, and the only thing worth considering is the age gap, i would still go out with him despite my previous assertion that i wouldn't date someone that much older. so it's really up to you, and it depends on how much you like this guy, and whether you think there's potential for you to date him for a long long time.

if the potential for a long relationship isn't there, i personally wouldn't bother dating someone who is that much older. it's all up to you, and your circumstances.

frankly, asking a question like that without any details makes giving you advice a little bit difficult.

I think, the age doesn't too affect the relation between you and her(or him ^^;). The main point of your relation is your love to him(or her ^^;), and she/he loves you too. ^^ You can see, there are a man that married with an old woman(the man is 35 years old, and the woman is 70 years old ^^;). And he said that he got a peace if he close to her. ^^ That means the age doesn't interfere the love of the man and the old woman. ^^

For me, I don't bother too much about the age issue on making a relationship. For me, as long we love each other, we can continue, even our age difference is quite big(around 6-10 years ^^).
