from the 1st time saw your wall" i think "incredible!" but hmm~ after zooming the wall, there's several part i would like to critique,

1st part,
the black string under the two scan.. that really distract the color. and hmm.. the string is to blur for me to see it.. so, its better vanished.

2nd part,
one of the most important part in doing wall, the scan~ Ichigo and Orihime didn't extracted and cleaned well. both inside the photo and outside~ better re-extract them. (LOOK AT ICHIGO LEG! argh!)

3rd part,
under Orihime scan body, there's something white that shut her body off. if you really want to shut it off. its better look cleared enough. otherwise it looks distracting~ (it looks better if Orihime ponytail went out.. haha")

4th part,
your signature please.. as the rule given in AP~ you must stated your name or sig that could showing you as the real wall creator~ without that, probably 95% disapproved from gallery~ (your AP name "4fifteen" right?)

other than that looks INCREDIBLE as the 1st timer~

01. Distracts what color? And it's looking not at all blurry to me and to everyone else who has seen it, although it is supposed to fade out at the tips.

02. The "polaroid" is supposed to look gritty, so all the noise in there was intentional. The coloured Ichi/Hime part...I may have overlooked that. Heh. As for the extraction...huh? I honestly don't see anything that was part of the original scan, so I can't see a problem with the extraction. What part of Ichigo's leg do you mean and what needs work there?

03. I see this as a matter of personal preference, because while you prefer it and Orihime's ponytail taken out, I like to keep Orihime's hair and the white, grungy brushes. :)

the section encircled on Ichigo's hair is choppy. The extraction isn't straight and there are bits of his hair missing. As for the rest of the extraction issues, they refer to lines that were cropped out, or lines that are too light to see properly. You might want to reextract it.

about the distracting black color strings~
the black string distracts the other colors in the wall~ (well, for me actually~ xD) the black color appearance is too high/deep, so that it decrease the others appearance~ simply said that it didn't fit in the wall~

about the extraction and cleaning, they're bad~ (as what Shige-kun said above~) about ICHIGO leg~ (it was the feet part actually ~ sorry, my mistake.. :P) look at all the white stuff" (is that intentional too? | )

as for the grungy brushes~ yeah" it's up to you, i just gave you how i like the wall looks like~ doesn't mean you have to follow xD`

Hummm.. Seems hard to get "hard" comments when you think you are done with your nice wall isn't it? :)

Anyway don't worry... If you come here you gonna get all sorts of comments, hard ones and nice ones... Depending on the person and the quality of your wall but don't worry you're here to improve try to calm down a bit... The defensive side of your character is not needed here. We are here only to help :)

Okay so... Here's your wall with shigemitsubaki's notes and mine added :

Like her I prefer to show what makes me tilt.

So the Polaroid frame is nice but the grey scale scan itself is a bit blurry around the girl. You may want to clean it a bit if you can.
As for the other scan, you really need to extract it again on some parts and also make the colors a bit more saturated. I guess you gonna say you like it the way it is but on a black background like the "square" you add behind they look sick :-s

The picture has a lot of JPEG artifacts all over. Make sure that you save your wall with the "save for web" option of your software. It avoids the damaging of the picture.
The string in front is REALLY blurry trust us. Even it's supposed to fade away on the right side of the wall it's still too blurry in the front part. You may want to vector that or just reline it.

The left bottom corner seems a bit empty so you could put the grainy frame more on the left to fulfill this space and give more balance to the wall.

Just a note : when you have characters dressed in white be careful with the white you put behind them... Cause it may look like you didn't extract them well :)

I like the general composition a lot and the leaves are awesome. It's more an autumn wallpaper but anyway it's a very nice start! Keep working a bit and it will get accepted.

I'm not being defensive, I just state things in a matter-of-fact manner so I suppose that's how it comes out. I prefer critique that deals with the techniques rather than commenting on what one would think would look good, because art is subjective. So bring on the "hard" comments, so long as it deals on the technical aspects.

Like what shimegitsubaki commented -- I find technical concrit more helpful, because I don't work with manga scans often. That was what I was hoping s3n1sh1 would point out to me, because the extraction looked error-free to my untrained eye; I needed it pointed out.

Which is what I would ask of you, zazou, regarding that "blurry around the girl" part. Where exactly? And I will try to keep that tip in mind, regarding the white you put behind extracted images. I don't remember being that blind with Orihime's hair (those are strong whites not be seen at 10x magnify), so I'm guessing they're the random vector shapes behind her head. I did butcher up Ichigo's hair though; my wrist was getting cricks clicking on the pen tool to go through his effin' hair.

If I sound snappy on this reply again, it's not my intention. I do seem to be getting rather misinterpreted a lot this week.

Working on scan isn't an easy work but you'll get into it don't worry ;)

I was also thinking it was probably something in her hair but I was really wondering... So I pointed out to be sure...

The blurriness I see is on the black and white picture on the left side of the girl... A bit everywhere in fact... Sorry I can't really be more specific cause it's more of feeling that something is wrong...

Don't hesitate to post a new version of this wall if you feel like it before submitting.
